I had the rubber centered crankshaft damper come apart on the 05 MCS. I ordered a new Super Damper and when I was installing it the damper went on completely by hand without a press fit. This is not good so I am looking at ways to fit the Super Damper to the crank. I think one way is to pin it using a 8mm removable dowel pin. Is there any other suggested ways to repair this short of removing the crank?
sounds like the crank snout is worn down, not good.....or.....maybe the super duper damper is machined wrong on the inside where it rides on the crank.
you only have two choices here....try another damper, or replace the crank
Compare the ID (inner diameter) from the original to the replacement. You will need a caliper to do so. Past that see how the original fits. If it just slides on you may have an issue.
