R50/53 4-2-1 HEADERS ?! ANYONE TRIED This?

Right after the collector or on the shot test pipe towards the collector. Which one fits best.

Yes, you are going to code out the CEL? I have not ran one with out both sensors in place and one removed. If its the same thread pitch then yes. Give it a try and see if it works.

Scorpion headers
Wow that’s was some quick shipping.
here are some pics as promised. And my bung questioned was answered. It came with extra bung !
over all the headers pretty light. 10lbs with the test pipe. 8 lbs. headers only.
It came with flange bolts but no gasket 😒.
any recommendations?
Also need to order ceramic coating before install.

Welcome. You can get the new ones off our site. I thought you had those on order also.
Aftermarket one is fine.

Today was the day. Finally got it installed. Scorpion was way easier to put in than the other 4 to 1 header. Even taking it out was a PITA.
scorpion was a breeze. Easy fit. Bolted perfectly with my Borla catback. The angled bung is perfect.
now just test for leaks before installing the heat shield..
25 foot lbs? headers Is that about right to torque it?
selling my old headers $50.00 I’ll include the angled fouler for decat ( no CEL )

Absolutely fantastic!
Thanks for update pix + fitment notes.
Just curious,
do you detect any difference in sound between the 4-2-1 compared to the 4-1?
Any detectable notice in power band change?
I've often read that 4-2-1 is better for midrange while 4-1 is better for top-end --- dunno if such things would be noticeable on a street car though,
still, I'd love to hear your thoughts.

but yes. That’s what i went with 4-2-1 for that reason.

didn’t pay attention to the Bung locations until i installed my MTXL + Wideband AFR gauge.
the angle is not ideal as you can see.
ive emailed scorpion and waiting for their response.
here’s what innovative Motorsport said. Regarding to my location question and bung height. Scorpion headers has an 1/2 an inch bung.
“There can be issues with the sensor being clocked at that position and using a shorter bung. I would recommend switching over to our 1” bung as I am worried you could develop issues with the sensor later on.
Thank you,

This was one of those things that I was holding off on due to expense and I need quite a few other things that take precedence over headers.
Keeping tabs on the price and it seems to have recently gone up again on the catted version --- I can only guess they get more expensive from the rising cost of precious metals in the cat?
Browsing the ebay last night noticed a listing for a new uninstalled unit and it was actually a fair asking price with buy-it-now but I'm pinched thin at the moment until next week so I threw an offer in on it which was countered and then I countered the counter and that was accepted.
I'm really stoked!

Thanks man!
I'm really happy that I spotted 'em and that the seller was cool too.
Can't wait to get 'em mounted up!
By the way, I was down in your neck of the woods last week,
but it's a sad sad story...
...actually it was in Apalachicola where I had a gig for work. Love that area for laidback chill. It was a small job so we were done on Wed.,
but that morning I got an alert from LKQ for a new arrival down in Largo:
I was like WOW! full aero kit fresh on the yard!
It was a 5 hour drive and I thought it was likely gonna get grabbed quick, but YOLO y'know I decided to go for it --- woke up at 3:30 AM and had a blast night driving on a very isolated hwy 98 but got more crowded as the sun came up and off the forgotten coast.
Got to Largo P-A-P at 8:30 and waited for the opening, got in finally and dashed back to the spot -
LOL
Oh well!
I got there the very next morning but it was already gone gone gone.
My drive home ended up being a long long 13hr trip!

Sent you a PM
I love junkyards and since I travel for work I get to visit a good number of them all over the southeast.
LKQ P-Y-P is my fave because of the pictures, otherwise at other boneyards just going in blind with a sparse descrip of year or whatever but sometimes that pays off with a nice surprise.
I also always like looking at door sill seams too and in my sampling it seems at least 85% of them are rusted
--- the car in Largo was rusted:

How do you feel about these new 421 vs your old headers ? I been looking into these for awhile now too.. do you feel any changes in power , like better low end worse top end ect ??
how do they sound vs the other headers? I feel like that old headers design sucks , mine literally sounds like you can hear the air tumbling through them not flowing evenly. Its hard to explain but I swear I can hear the air tumbling and that cannot be efficient.

Do you feel you lost any top end ? I'm more worried about topend power.. I feel this cars has enough low end grunt its hard to control and id rather have that power come on and be usable later in the rpm range where I won't be wasting it with tire spin or something .

I ran non cat too and have intake.. my exhaust is pacesetter too so its loud buuut I can still hear that thing I was describing and its ALWAYS bothered me..
