Walnut Blasting Kits
Hey everyone,
I've been doing a fair bit or reading on walnut blasting as a means to resolving really bad intake valve build up and I do believe this is really the only true resolution to this problem.. although I don't believe in paying a dealership or shop to do this and I rather enjoy working on my own car. I do read this more pertaining to newer Coopers than my own and am having issues tracking down the proper kit that comes with mostly everything I will need. Are the kits really that specific? My Cooper is a 2015 hatch.. Non S.. an R50.
If I can't find a kit what could some other alternatives be.. other than seafoam, I want to do this proper.

There are many cheap sand blasting kits out there, Harbor Freight, Sears, etc for $50 or less, assuming you have an air compressor already. Walnut shells or glass bead blasting is slight more specialized. Look at Eastwood.com for a varied selection and price range. Unless you have a use a blaster for other than your immediate need, I couldn't justify spending money on something just to do it myself. I have a cheap sears sand blaster and do my blasting in the back yard. I wish i could justify a blasting cabinet but I really don't have the room in my garage. good luck in your search.

The carbon buildup issues are with the "Prince" french engines for 2nd Generation MINI which have the direct injection system....
Walnut blasting not needed for the engines in this section....
