R50/53 Gas Pedal Replacement

Gas Pedal Replacement
Good morning. Concerning a 2004 5 Speed R50
On the way to work, my gas pedal broke off at the base and then slipped off the ball joint at the top. Looks like
an easy replacement for sure. Quite a range of prices on parts, though. Any advice on the cheaper parts that will work
just as good as OEMs?
Thanks!

In my experience, Mini Mania or similar (Pelican Parts?) businesses who cater to Mini Coopers have good stuff.
These businesses would never survive if they sold lower grade parts to Mini enthusiasts.
My personal preference is OEM, you might find what you need from a salvage yard.
I avoid Made in China parts when I can, they don’t seem to last. It seems to be a problem with the materials used - the machine work is fine but the metal itself seems to be of poorer quality.
My daughter has the same car, Chili Red. Fun car to drive, isn’t it?!

I know that Hella makes the pedal for my R56, so I bought that pedal for half the price. Hella is the manufacturer for this pedal, too. Their part number is 6PV 010 946-441, but unfortunately, where it can be found, I don't think it is any cheaper than the MINI branded part. So, I think you're stuck with OEM or a junkyard.
