Rear Brake Pad Sensor (Missing?)

I was changing out the brakes on my 2003 MCS this weekend, and the old brake pads didn't have a wear sensor. After swapping them out, I looked for a sensor plug all over but it was nowhere to be found. I also didn't see any cut wires so is it possible the 2003s didn't have a wear sensor?

If it's missing on mine, could someone provide some insight as to where the lines run from the front so I know where to look?. If possible, I'll start at the engine and follow the wires back to see where it got lost.

Thanks!

DID you have an 'alert' that the pads were gone?

2002 there were no sensors .... WHEN they came in SPECIFICALLY? dunno .....

first thing I'd check is the left front to see if there is a sensor ...... <your title mentions REAR>

THEN

toggle thru the 'alert' offerings in the service menu ...... does brake pop up?

the wire is usually found running right down the strut/shock IME . . .

This car was built 12/2002 so makes me wonder if the sensors weren't added yet. The wife's 2006 has the sensors so I just assumed they all had it. Good to know that's not correct.

I'll check the left front this evening, and I'll have to look up the service menu options.l since I haven't done that before. I do know there's no fault when I use my scan tool.

Thanks!

RealOEM shows the brake sensors first appeared in 03/2003 so yours wouldn't have them.

Thanks, that solves the mystery!

I had looked last night, and there was no sensor on the left front either. One less thing to worry about now, lol.
