EML light, limp mode, and will barely idle

Hey NAM,

My 02 JCW sat for a week and half while I was out of town and when I hopped in yesterday I was greeted by it not being very happy.

It will barely idle, won't rev past 2500 in neutral and EML light is on. I pulled the codes and found my typical cat inefficiency and evap leak but also now a P1125 (accel pedal position fault) and P0638 (throttle actuator control bank 1). I did confirm in data stream that the throttle pedal position is being reported correctly (zero with foot off, smooth and steady counting up while stepping down, max at 100%) I also tried re-sync'ing the throttle (key on engine off held to the floor for 1 min) and no change. Other than these I'm not sure where to start my diag, I hate throwing parts at cars! I looked for a troubleshooting guide for the TB but haven't found one yet. If any one can point me in that direction I'd be grateful! Also any other advice, tips and/or tricks would be great as well!

I did also notice that my P/S fan is running with key on and don't remember it ever doing this before

TIA!

Check first throttle body connector. After years this connectors fail.Use some contact cleaner , and try with a sharp needle to "close "the mother socket connectors. If not work must replace Throttle body.In rarer cases it happens ECU fail, more exactly the throttle body driver inside ECU is dead.

Hey this seems to be the problem that I was encountering! I unplugged the TB to visually inspect the connecter. I didn't see anything of concern but when I plugged it back in the problem was resolved! Do you know of any place I can order a new connector pigtail if this continues to happen?
