Random misfire P0300

I have an 05 R53 with a 15% pulley and VGS mod fairly stock other than that. Last week on a couple different trips the traction control light came on steady, then last Friday both the traction control and the check engine lights come on with a code of P0300 (random misfire). After doing some reading on here decided to change out the coil pack and plug wires. Drove it a bit on Sunday and had the traction control light come on again, then again on Monday morning had both the traction control and the check engine light come on. Had my son come over with his Snap on scan reader and while just sitting in the drive way we noticed that between 1500 - 2000 rpm, on cylinders 1 & 4, the misfire count would start rolling up like the "Amount Raised" reader board at the Jerry Lewis Labor Day Telethon! RPM's above or below that there were no misfires. If I hadn't just changed the coil pack I would think that was the issue, now I'm thinking injectors?

How old are the spark plugs? But having cylinders 1 & 4 go at the same time screams coil pack issues.

Spark plugs were changed last winter when I serviced the super charger and installed the 15% pulley. I agree that it screams coil pack, I think I might try cleaning up the terminals on the old one and putting it back on to see if the same cylinders drop out.

That sounds like a logical troubleshooting idea.
Its a stock coil pack?

If this doesn't get you a result, try swapping plug wires around to also see if the misfire moves positions.

After giving my kid free rein with his scan tool he narrowed it down to the MAP sensor. He back probed the MAP sensor with his Snap-on scan tool and was able to see that it wasn't functioning correctly. I just happened to have a brand new one sitting on the shelf. Changed it out and life is good! Virtually no misfires.

Hopefully I posted in the right spot, Its my first post be gentle ;-)

I have a 2006 MCS R52 cabrio with 116K miles. Its currently throwing P0300 and P0302 codes, multiple cylinder misfire & cylinder 2 misfire.

Background:
Bought it 10 yr ago with 25K, garaged the whole time, daily driver. My wife has been primary driver. Very reliable and fun car. Was experiencing severe overheating issues last year, dealer put in a new radiator and fan. Also put in a new battery. Drove it for a few months and then experienced intermittent overheating issues, My local BMW-cert mechanic found no issues, However it seemed to be slowly loosing a bit of coolant over time.

My Mods:
I had purchased the M7 Performance Power Pak about 9 months ago and decided to finally take the plunge into Stage 1. Installed a CAI, larger inter-cooler, 16% sc pully, ATI 2% super damper, NGK (+1 colder) plugs, NGK wires, MSD ignition coil, aluminum water tank with pressure cap and an oil catch can. I also got an OBD2 reader (Foxwell 510). It took a LOT of work, but I got it done and it was VERY satisfying. The old spark plugs were totally blacked, which may have explained why the engine sounded much better after install, but it still has a rough idle at start-up. Also no more overheating (yeah!!),

Results:
Initially after install the ECU was throwing P0300, P0302, P0304 and P1632 codes. I reset, added Techron and ran. After 5 miles, on start-up, the CEL came on blinking, then solid, and threw just a single P0302. That seemed ominous. Ran Diags on the OBD reader (I'm still figuring it out) and reset codes again. This time ran for about 20 miles, revs and sounds great with new pulley even at WOT. But now it throws a P0300 (multiple misfires), and P0302 (cyl 2 misfire) and a P0340 (Camshaft position sensor) warning, rough idle still on start-up but evens out after about 5 mins.

Next Step:
Checked the threads: pointed to spark plugs (check), a leaking valve cover gasket, dirty fuel injectors and/or non-premium gas. So I ordered gasket and fuel injectors (got the 380cc 'cause new pulley) and just started using premium (oops).
Other posts say the cylinder head may have warped from overheating, not sure how to check that without removing it. This may mean swapping out the head (probably look at the RMW Head, cause that's the plan for stage 2, but then you need the headers, cam shaft, tune, Cat-Back et al). Never opened up an engine, so inspecting and/or swapping the head is a bit intimidating. But these forums and Mod MINI have gotten me this far.

Any thoughts comments are welcome.

BTW this is the first time I've worked on a vehicle since they started putting ECUs in them. So far so good. Glad to be back in the mix.

ATI Super Damper. Was actually easier than I anticipated to get old one off and new damper on.

Cleaned up the engine bay. Nice new, huge intercooler, red water tank and M7 air box

Takes a lot of work to get to this pulley, but it looks nice sitting there.

Update on this.

It was still throwing the P0304 misfire code, so after taking it to TWO DIFFERENT MECHANICS, the 2nd one said it might be the head gasket, I took the plunge and replaced the head gasket, which was a bit of work, but thanks to ModMini, I was able to do it with confidence.

The engine ran well after that, but still had a 0304 code. After hearing a mechanic at the tail end of a YouTube video talk about it, I reset the engine misfire adaptations using my Foxwell 510 elite scan tool, and now no more misfire.

Unfortunately I now have a 0700, 2901 codes for my Aisin transmission issue, starting a new thread for that over hear:
