Fuel Adaptation Reset On Tuned Mini

Hi everyone! I have a 2002 mini Cooper S(R53). A while back I got my car tuned by Jan via the MyGenius tool, Where I scan my ecu, send the file over, he modified it for my cars mods, and I then uploaded that to my car. My question is, Would it cause problems if I reset my fuel trim adaptations? I recently got ahold of the NCS,WinkFP, And INPA software, and was looking to do some changes to my car. I'm just a little concerned that maybe, the tune has those preset values for fuel adaptations, that if I reset them, may cause problems. If anyone's curious, the reason id like to reset them is my o2 sensor is showing a lean condition, and I'm hoping this may remedy the situation. The code I have is P2096 for post o2 too lean. Side question, I have been having trouble finding anywhere on the forums, But I wanted to know if it were possible to code out the post o2 sensor with one of the programs I listed? Thanks in advance!

Resetting adaptations doesnt hurt, the car will start adapting again as soon as you run it again. It should be possible to disable the second O2 sensor. You might also try a O2 spacer, before you decide to do so.

Something like this:

Well I just checked and my adaptations are almost flat zero. So looks like this won’t do anything. I do have a vibrant j-bend O2 fitting installed, but for some reason it’s been giving me a post O2 too lean code after a year of it working just fine. Any idea how to disable the sensor? Or default the computer monitor to ready? Thanks!!

To code out O2 you’ll have to use the inpa suite…the nxpexpert, thingy, app, tool whatever

there’s a learning curve.

many threads here on coding.

also see my thread named “inpa”. Some good info there

or contact that dude here that codes for everyone. Have him do it remotely.

adrian I think is his name

If you disable the 02 even though there's not a code you will still flunk emissions testings because the rear 02 emissions readiness will never read ready on the emissions testing.you need to install this and to your exhaust and your exhaust and install your oxygen sensor into it it is the only one I have ever used that works on the Mini Coopers many Coopers and you will not have a check engine code using this
