Weird Starting Issues - Need Help

Yesterday I went to start my r53 and it didn't crank, just clicks from the dash. Right okay, I went and got my jumpbox and jump started the car. Later in the day the same issue happened, but this was to be expected because my commute isn't very far so the battery didn't have much time to recharge. Last night I let the battery trickle charge, probably for about 8 hours or so but when I went to start my car this morning I only got the dreaded clicks from the dashboard. However, I used my jumpbox and it started just fine. Anybody know why this is? I can only get my car to start by jumping it even though I let it charge overnight. My battery is only a couple months old so I wouldn't expect to have these kinda of issues. Thanks for any help

Are you jumping it at the battery, or at the jumper/charging post in the engine compartment? Maybe the battery cable running to the front of the car is bad.

I'm jumping it from the battery itself, but that's not the issue. The issue is I can ONLY get it to start by jumping it, despite the fact that the battery should retain enough charge to start the car since I trickle charged it overnight.

You may have a bad battery even thought it's relatively new. Take it out and down to AutoZone or O'Reilly's and have it tested. Mini's are notorious for issues with batteries not in peak shape.

Yep... the fairly new battery was the issue. A little frustrating, but I'm glad it's not some confusing/expensive electrical stuff within the car. I haven't bought a new battery yet but my other one is testing bad so I'm sure that's the issue.

If the battery is only 2 months old, the vendor should swap it for a good one.
