Test Drive....Hell?

Let me start at the beginning. I've been trying to arrange a test drive and hour from my house for weeks now. After driving by a used BMW dealership with one in the lot, I decided to test that one, and if I liked it....get one from a Mini dealer.

First off-LOVED IT! Yeah!

After I tested both a MCCS and a MC, both 05, I decided this was the car for me, BUT I'm not getting the one they had- they wanted 30,000 and the only option it had was the chrono pack! Talk about mark up!

Then they double teamed me. Another dealer came out to tell me she wouldn't put her own daughter in one! Too dangerous! Here, drive a 325i Please, drive it then go home, but I want to get your mind off the cooper.

Okay, I don't know much about car sales, but I don't think you try to talk a customer out of buying a car ....AND when I told her I drove a VW Cabriolet for years, she goes to tell me "That's bigger than a Cooper! You could fit the Cooper inside a Cabriolet"

Anyway, thought I would let you know about my interesting afternoon

That's a very old sales trick. It's based on reverse psychology. Think about it. If they tell you, you can't have it, you instinctivly (sp?) want it more.

Btw: you don't want a mini

Sales people....

So have you decided on what you want yet and where you are going to purchase it from?

Chow!

don't pay extra

moneypenny, pay only msrp or less. any additional markup and dealer fees is undeserved. You should be able to buy a MINI out of stock here in FL unless you have some very specific requirements.

If the dealer won't cooperate call Mike Priest at Downtown Mini of Olando http://www.iwantamini.com/index.asp tell him I referred you. (& no I don't get anything from it)

Take a look here at Classic Mini in Cleveland and what kind of deal they can put together on a car delivered to your door.

BTW, I was rear ended by a 1T truck doing about 35mph on I4 in my 03 Cooper (I was sitting still in a traffic jam) While the car suffered almost $6,000 in damages, it held up extremely well and was back on the road in a month. I came out unscathed. The MINI is a little tank. Both I & my wife drive one. If you have any concern take a look at the crash test at the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

Oh I'm excited about getting one! I just think it was hilarious that they were talking me OUT of buying a car from them! I guess they would get a better commission out of a new 325i, but hey, I test drove the dang thing and....yep wanted the Mini even more.

I have a contact at Ferman and I'm going to tell him what I want and see what he can do for me. I'm also going to contact Christal at Lauderdale and see.

I'll now look into the other dealerships you recommend.

This will be the 3rd new MINI I buy from Crystal.

Ah, the strange going's on at a MINI dealership located on the grounds of a BMW dealership. The person who tried to "upsell" you to a 325i is on the BMW side of the house and trying to make a comission for the BMW guys. The MINI salesperson is trying to keep you as a MINI customer. Nice of the BMW people to undercut the sales at a dealership owned by the same person that owns the BMW dealer. I'm sure the owner would be happy to see that.

Yeah, well they lost a sale with me, besides, I'm not going to pay a 5,000 markup for a Used Mini that's not exactly what I want anyway.

So have you decided on what you want yet and where you are going to purchase it from?
Yes, I think so....
MCC
Jet Black (I'm always cold, even in 85 degree weather, so Black in Florida does not bother me at all, besides the car I have now is Black :smile
Nav
CVT
MFSW

Then I'll play around with figures for the rest

Xenon headlights? One of my options I am very pleased with, I think it is good for safety. Better to see and be seen.

Also I really like my rain sensensing windshield washers.

it's called .......Bait, and switch. It's the oldest trick in the book.Typically, you see an adv. in the paper showing a car at an unbelievably low price, and when you go there they tell you that THAT car has been sold, but they have plenty more at an increased price. The MINI got you in the door ,so they could fatten the commission with a higher priced Beemer. Shame, shame, BTW what dealership was it ,so no one else has to go through this.

It's called All Pro Imports they are located in Ocala and Gainesville. But here in Ocala I think they're just switching to a BMW dealership sandwiched in between a VW and Porsche, but they're all together. Don't know if they're keeping the name All Pro Imports or not.

Just got a call today, as a matter of fact, they want to know if I have any questions.....

If both are owned by the same person/company.....it doesn't really matter they are still making money either way......
