I ordered my US spec MCSa here in Germany last september, and I was expecting it to get here around the end of the week. I had today off (tuesday) so my 4 year old son and I took a drive to the dealer just to see if it had come in early (slim chance). After a quick cruise through the lot, we gave up and left. Not even a block away we see an auto transport coming around the corner. And what do we see sitting on top up front? My red/white MCSa!

I identified it as mine right away (chrome & no stripes), I suppose after picturing it in my head for so many months! So we turned around and followed it back to the lot, where we stood in the rain watching them unload it. I think I upset the driver a bit when I opened the driver's door, because he shouted something in German at me and motioned for me to close it (the dealer hadn't yet done his acceptance inspection)!

My son has been waiting this out right along with me, so it was pretty cool that he was there with me today. Especially since I plan on keeping this MINI long enough for him to drive it!

By the way, if there are any others waiting for MINIs here in K-town, they also unloaded a black MINI One, and two MCSCs, one BRG and one orange.

Gotta go, I'm heading back to the dealer for some pics!

 

I thought I had tracking my MINI down to a science.:smile: But following the truck to the dealer, that's beyond the beyonds.

Sound very cool that you finally got you MINI after all but how old is you kid again because you stated that you are going to keep it for him.

Here's a question: I didn't order the giant cupholder, but it has one installed. Isn't the cupholder an option you have to pay for?

And yes, some creative tracking IS needed when MINIUSA's owner's lounge features are not available to us overseas!

American spec Minis all get the cup holder. I couldn't even request it w/o one!!! Pics look great! Mine should be here w/in a couple weeks, perhaps Ill start stalking my dealer as well

Johnny L, that couldn't be more true. Take a look at this other photo I got yesterday! The MINI does stand out a bit, doesn't it!

I'd like to be out driving it now, but unfortunately, the paperwork process is very slow here. I'll be lucky if I get it by Friday.

How long is the wait time in the states for customer pick-up (after it has arrived at the dealership)?

Oh my God! That looks like the exact same lot that I picked up my brand new E36 BMW at back in '92! Is that the tax-free place on Kaiserstraße just past Vogelweh? Looks like it. . .

Brings back some fond memories. . .you're gonna HATE the break-in miles on the Autobahn. . .but the payoff will come soon enough.
