Ernie is in production!!!
Just checked MINIUSA and my little yellow MC is in production, with a due date of May 4th!!! Wow, this is great news!
So does this put me in the April 2005 group or the May 2005 group? Or maybe even the June 2005 group since that's when he should arrive at my dealer..?
Pete

Hey that's super!!! I'm thinking you're definitely gonna have your MINI in May. My Cooper was built mid-January and I was motoring by the end of the month!
Does "due date" refer to a build date or an arriving-at-your-dealer date? If it's the latter then it's very approximate...it could be a bit sooner (frequently) or a bit later (but not by much I expect).
Either way, great news!!!!!

A recommendation: begin researching supplies for properly washing and detailing you MINI when it does get here. Start with the basics for good, safe washing and drying. I didn't do this but wish I had....I had to play a bit of catch-up. See, the thing is that many owners even shock themselves by how much they want to dote on their new, shiny MINIs. I mean, this is LOVE man!!!! With the right supplies you can dote and obsess to your heart's content. Study the detailing forum for recommended products. At this point you still have plenty of time to order some things you may not be able to find locally (...like waffleweave microfiber drying towels).

Hey, Pete! Welcome! I ordered mine on February 28th, and I'll be taking delivery this Friday! I think the wait will have been 99 days! If you're on the East Coast, you'll be Motoring a good 3 weeks earlier, I should think. Can't wait to see the pics, read the stories, and "sense" all of the love!
