Wondering if anyone has installed the wheel covers which fit between the hub and the wheel to protect against brake dust? Any before and after results? I've heard lots about MINIs and quick brake dust build-up, and these covers sound like they could be a great idea. $39.95 in the Moss Catalogue.

fms,

I think I just answered this somewhere else, but for your benefit:

The covers definitely stop the brake dust, the only problem is, they stop the airflow for brake cooling as well. I recommend against them, as the MINI already has just adequate brakes. If you are doing some spirited driving (totally encouraged by the MINI), then the heat will not dissipate, and your brakes will fade.

You may want to opt for a different brake compound instead - perhaps the EBC Green Stuff pads. I don't carry these (well, I have access to them, but I haven't done any testing, so I don't sell them), but several of the MCO sponsors do. Check the Sponsor Directory and go surf around. That would be a much better solution than the Dust Shields.

Feel free to contact me if you have any other questions.
