All you need to be concerned with is the fact that you like it.
If you're afraid to be seen in it because you don't think you fit the "target market" then that's a shame

As for my demographic, I'm a 35 year old, mom of three, and instead of the typical SUV or minivan to haul around the kids, my daily driver is my Chili Red S! Sure, we have one of those giant weekend warriors to cruise the highways, but my husband gets to drive that!

It was a collective decision for us, so I'll list both.
Me: 49 M combat vet of the US Marine Corps, middle of the road political views, doctorate degree
Her: 45 F left leaning Quaker big on non-violence, BA from Yale
Us: both remember the fun we had with a BMW 2002Tii, and the MC comes pretty close!

I've noticed in my area that most of the people driving Minis are either young males/females or older males and some females. Same goes for those who stop and ask/comment us on our Mini. Not to put a "demographic" on Minis but in my area I have noticed usually the people driving Minis or ask/comment about Minis are caucasian young males/females or older males and some females.

Demographics....
Hello, to all...
What an interesting thread. As for me, I am 71, and a retired District Court Judge, owned three British cars before (Triumph TR3a, MG Midget '74, and MGB). The MINI appealed to me for it seems to have retained the look and feel of a British marque but with new technology. Some motorist ran a stop light back in 1997 and I hit her car broadside, demolished my MGB (with its new British Racing Green paint job), and even with the seat belts on the steering wheel broke my sternum (ouch).
As a former past president of our local (New Orleaans) MG car club I was somewhat familiar with the little oddities of British cars and was prepared to put up with those that charmingly remain part of the MINI. Looking forward to a few more years of life and many miles of motoring (even bought the extended warranty - 7 years or 100,000 miles!).
Good luck, all...

Joint decision:
We're both in our mid forties.
This is an additional, 3rd car we bought for "fun". We are handling fanatics and love stiff suspension and manual transmissions (with clutch pedal!)--even our Volvo 850 has a suspension package and manual transmission. The MCS is the sine qua non for handling. The Lotus Elise might outhandle it, but I'd hate to commute in one and it won't seat four in a pinch.
I'm tall, she's short, and very few cars are comfortable for both of us.
Automotive History:
--lots of Volvos (sedans & wagons, mostly turbos, mostly manual transmissions). Sadly, Volvo lost its way since the S60 and we have defected for good.
--Honda Odyssey minivan (trip car and kid hauler)
--Econobox commuters (Mazda 323, Toyota Corrola, Renault 4, VW fastback, Datsun 610, others)
--1967 and 1968 Mercedes-Benz (two heckflossen [fintails])
--1958 ****** L6-226 4x4 Utility Wagon (project)
--Never a SUV (except the ******--the original SUV!)
--1963 Corvair Sypder Turbo (featuring 1.5 seconds of lag!)
--1963 Ford Thunderbird
