Mini Motoring Insurance?

So I got something in the mail today saying "Lets gets more band for fewer buck."

It says Introducting Mini Motoring Insurance from Libery Mutual. And it came with a little pamphlet with a mini and the logo and basically they are trying to get me to switch to Libery Mutual for my car insurance.

Says You'll also enjoy an excluse array of services to meet your select needs.

Orignal Mini replacement parts.
New vechicle replacement cost coverage
24 hr claim service
concierge service
enchanced roadside assistance
towing to nearest Mini dealer.

Anyone got this and called for pricing?

It arrived yesterday, but I haven't called. It's pretty tough to beat USAA, most won't even try. But the flyer is pretty sharp

Yeah, I have USAA too, and the rates are pretty amazing

I haven't seen that particular add from Liberty Mutual, but one of their customers smashed into my previous daily driver, and they tried very hard to screw me after my car was considered "totaled". My opinion of them is very bad, and I wouldn't even use their ad to line a litterbox...

Liberty Mutual

Has anybody covered her/his MINI with Liberty Mutual?
We received an offert in the mail about covering the MINIs thru Liberty.

I checked them out and yes that they are actually cheaper than USAA (which I have for 15 yrs ).
I am OK w/ USAA - I used them a couple times - once for the a keyed Camaro and another time for a branch that fallen on my hood -
The only time I was in an accident they jerked me around , got rear ended and the guy left , incindentally he also had USAA and they believed him instead than me, so I had to file under uninsured motorist.

In any case this Liberty Mutual offert is for MINI only - ot's part of a deal BMW has w/ Liberty. Any experience? Before switching I would like some feedback..

Thanks

I got the same offer in the mail. I think for Michael and I we are getting a good deal right now with our current carrier (Allstate) - they have the house, cars, motorcycle and a couple other of our policies. When I got hit on Key Bridge several years ago by a teenager driving her grandmother's car without permission they were great and really handled the claim very well. (This was my Saturn, not the MINI)

I am currently insured with State Farm and are part of the "Mutual" status which gives their top tier clients the absolute best rates.

I called Liberty Insurance (The provider of the MINI tailored insurance) and they couldn't even touch the rates we are getting now in our MINIs with State Farm. In fact, Liberty quoted me DOUBLE of what we are paying now

For example, for my '05 MCS, I pay $625 every 6 months. This is for a policy with a $250 deductible and 50/100/200 coverage, rental car, etc, etc. Liberty quoted me $1,300 every 6 months for the same coverage What are these people smoking??

Keep in mind. I am 34 years old (My wife is 29), we both have outstanding credit, are homeowners and both are professionals with squeaky clean driving records. Still, Liberty could not produce a decent rate even if their lives depended on it.

Insurance in Florida (Specially South Florida) is prohibitely expensive, but the quotes I received were ridiculous! For $4,000 a year I can probably insure 2 Corvettes

Being under 25, male, divorced, and having 2 accidents in under a year (one at fault, one not) I am lucky to only pay 2400/yr .

We have Erie Insurance and with two cars and house the MINI insurance cost us about 890.00 per year. Which is about 125.00 higher than they quoted me 2 months before I ordered the car.

I checked again - I got the quote in writing and it comes to $ 312. less than USAA. Yealy quote. Both with the same coverage/ded.etc.
I checked the coverage for the week-end house but Liberty came in higher (200) but with half of the ded. and lower coverage. USAA, on the other has declined to cover my week-end house tho I have the house in DC covered with them. No Discounts for insuring house and cars with USAA. Never had a claim on my house either.. How weird..

20, single, living with rents, year old car, 2 "accidents," one at fault=$700 to the OTHER car, not at fault=hit in parking lot, UM claim for 950$... neither in my MINI, but within 4 months of each other.

Still paying 250$ a month. And that's just because i sweet talked my 24 y/o insurance agent

WOW!!! State Farm here in N. Florida is running me $75 a month on my MCSc. High coverages, low deductible. USAA couldn't touch them. Of course I'm 50 so I guess I'm pretty safe. HA!!!!

That's interesting, as I have my '04 MCS insured with Liberty Mutual (no special Mini deal), and I pay less than $550/year. Liberty offers annual policies. That is for a $0/$250 deductible, higher liability limits than you noted, rental/towing, etc, and I'm 35.

Ouch! $1250/year is really high (maybe its FL). I pay a little more than half of that for twice the coverage.

Also, I think your confusing companies. "Liberty Insurance" is not "Liberty Mutual". Liberty Insurance is owned by a CA Ins co. Liberty Mutual is an old Boston based Ins co.

Hi all!

This fascinates me, since I already have Liberty Mutual for my car insurance. I actually switched over a time when LM offered discounts because my company's liability insurance was with them, so I got a special rate. That was years ago, and since I stayed with them, the rate has stayed the same.

My Mini is still on order, so I'm not sure what it will cost me just yet...

Can someone scan the "offer" from them so I can see what they are offering?

Rates are tough to compare since everyone's driving record, credit, state and local rates, and liability limits will dramatically affect rates. I usually just share my current policy with a prospective insurer to make sure they are comparing apples to apples.

Liberty Mutual has been good when I needed a claim processed (someone hit me in a parking lot). They were easy to work with.

When you live in South Florida you are screwed in terms of insurance costs. Bad drivers, terrible traffic, hurricanes, high property taxes/prices, etc.

Actually, what we are paying State Farm is very, very cheap for Miami/South Florida standards. A co-worker of mine owns a 2004 MCS and he is paying $2,400/year for his coverage alone. A Porsche/Corvette could be as high as $5K+ per year. Both my wife and I are paying in the $1,100-$1,250 per year ballpark for EACH of our MINIs. The Cooper CVT pays slightly less than my MCS but nothing too significant.

Life here is very expensive. I like Miami but for the most part this place is overrated and too expensive for us normal folks. This place is for sale to celebrities and foreigners with lots of cash in hand. In 1999 I bought our condo for $89,000. Six years later, its current market value is over $300K

That would give you an idea of the price of everything down here in the "Magic City".

Thanks for the correction regarding the insurance co's names. I am not that all familiar with the industry, so I am bound to make mistakes.

We use Liberty Mutual's group division to offer their discounted auto, homeowner's and renter's insurance to the employees of our company (discounted rates and payroll premium deductions, basically).

I've found them to be pretty good - most of our employees that have it have commented about their excellent customer service. While I have my MINI's insurance through State Farm (just because I've had State Farm for over 10 years), I have my renter's insurance through Liberty Mutual and have no complaints, there.

The only complaints I've received have to do with them sometimes allocating our payroll deducted premiums incorrectly, or not getting an employee set up properly. On the whole, I think they are very reliable.

You can blame the State of Florida in part. Only about half of drivers from south of Stuart have auto insurance at all!! If the State would enforce the law, a lot of drivers would be off the road and so would their clunkers.
