R50/53 Horror Story #3.

Horror Story #3.
Ouch! That's all that's left to say. First off, let me say that I've had the MINI for 3 years, and it seems that every year I've had an accident with it, and had to take to body-shop! Luckly, none of those accidents happened on the 13th!! lol... Was the 12th this time.
Yesterday, went to pick up girlfriend at the mall where she works at, then we'd both leave for school, and come back to pick the other car up on the way home (she drove in the morning to the mall, I drove in the afternoon, and we'd both drive back home in our original cars, but to school, we only take one car).
I get there, everything is ok, she wanted me to drive, but she was parked close, which meant I convinced her to drive today instead. As a side remark, I forgot to mention that I was having a very crappy day from morning!
We go to school (I hate the class, by the way, not my style, but lady loves it, so I love it too...) and was even more upset because the professor was "teaching" us things against my beliefs, but that's a different story...
After class, she drove to the mall parking lot to drop me off, when I noticed the MINI parked NOT where it was supposed to be. I start freakin' out saying "that's not where I parked!" In my mind, I was thinking some car thieves took the ride for a ride, but brought it back, which I'm glad... OR!
The other thought was: there was an accident which had pushed my car out of the parking lot space, into the street and then a truck had to come in and move my car away from the middle of the road.... BINGO!
FIVE cars were involved in what seems to be the most HORRIBLE crash inside a mall parking lot to my knowledge!!!! Let's see if I can get this down: This lady was driving a Ford Pick-up Truck, she wanted to park in a space near my car, a mustang, and a brand new 06 Lexus. She didn't get the angle right, so she pull back in reverse, at which time she bumps SLOWLY at the wall! Let me pause you now and ask yourselves: if you reverse, hit something at REVERSE speed, what do you do? What did SHE do? Of course! Freak out, put it in DRIVE and FLOOR IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
She ended up TOTALLING the '06 Lexus SUV, hit my car on the passanger side which totalled the door, side skirts, rear panel, bumper, rear lights, and a little bit of the boot (British car, right? hehe) the Mustang got very little scratches on the driver's rear-wheel arch, which shouldn't be a problem, but some big dents ON THE ROOF!!!! Explain that one to me, please. The lady from the Mustang called me after a while and complained about her wheel not being aligned and she could feel the car shaking, so it could be more than it seems. Luckly my wheel (rare find) was not damaged for some reason - which I'm not complaining. So far that's three cars. The accident causing car had to remove its front bumper, but was able to drive off - no air bags??? Weird for that kind of hit. And the fifth was a car parked next to mine, apparently my car moved quickly, but hit this other van on the side because of "the law of physics". But was not major, and the owner saw it, shook it off with a towel, and looked fine. So he just moved on with his day.
Now I'm gonna talk to the insurance right now and tell them the same thing. Wish me luck in not losing it...
Sorry 'bout the nightmares some of you may have from now on...
Motor SAFE, PLEASE!!
Leo.
PS: To make things worse, I'm a very angry guy, and when I saw my car, I got so f*cking pissed that I literally punched a wall three times as hard as I could and now I think I might have broken my hand... Ouch 2.

Some days it just doesn't pay to get out of bed. I am so sick of seeing humungous trucks try to aprk in spaces that are obviously too small! And it always seems the person exitin gthe vehicle is about 4'9" tall and can't see over the hood of said vehicle. It is sickening to think she took out so many cars because she didn't wan to walk fifteen extra yards! Parking lots are not so big that having to walk from one end to the other would kill anyone. So....that's what I do. I NEVER park anywhere near another car. Especially in a spcae that could be construed as "just big enough".
Sorry for you pain. Your car is/was beautiful!

Also, did anyone get pictures of the scene? Sounds like a demolition derby.

lol. First, thankd you all for everything. The class - I need for my major, I just don't like it, but stick around because girlfriend likes it, it's really not that bad; just yesterday wasn't my thing.
Got plenty of pictures of my car only; was the only one left there. The body shop is approved by MINI, so they're good - I've gone to them before.
Just came back from Hospital. I have a fractured right hand (or as we call it - shifting hand!) But the car is in the shop anyways, so that woulnd't be a problem... But I do have 2 tests next week and I am right handed... We'll see what I can do.
Thank you all for the remarks and concerns. I'll try to keep everybody posted. Pictures of the accident coming soon.
Thank you again,
Leo.

As for the body work, don't let her insurance screw with you. Tell them you want GENUINE parts. And don't take it till it is PERFECT.
Sorry about your hand. Temper, temper!!!

The body shop knows me already; they know I'm a perfectionist, and that goes for my car, too! Lauderdale MINI introduced them to me, so I trust them.
Hand hurts now ; it was an eye-opener , and I didn't think I was hitting the wall that bad; I barely remember how many times for sure I hit it, though. Will be much calmer in the future...
I just love the little smileys! hehe.

I feel your pain. Twice in my misspent yoof, I too took out my anger by punching a wall, and twice I fractured my right hand. Maybe I didn't learn the first time, but after the second trip to Dr. Feelgood's I realized that 1) the wall never felt any pain; and 2) the wall always won. So, discretion being the better part of valor, I have refrained from dukeing it out with studs hidden behind drywall and learned to count to ten before taking any action that might result in harm.
Your car will be ok, be thankful that neither you nor gf were inside it at the time. Sorry, but the world is full of fools, Ms. Ican'tdrive being one of many we must suffer throughout our lives.

OMG Leo That totally sucks!!!!!! If that was my mini I would have punched the lady 3 times not the wall!!! And then light her freken truck on fire!!! and then make her eat her drivers license just for being stupid!!! How do they give morons like that license! Hopefully the police were called, If so what happened? Was she charged with anything? Did she even realize she could have killed someone or several ppl?

I know, man. She's lucky (honestly, not an expression or figure of speech) that I was NOT there and that nobody else was there, either. When I arrived (around 9:30pm), the lady and the Lexus were already taken care of; the only two cars were mine and Mustang. So basically, we didn't know what happened, just that two cars were damaged.
Police were called, and they left a note on our windshields with an Officer name and # and police report about what happened. After that, we called the cop and he told us that she did get a ticket - for impropper driving inside a parking lot (exceeding speed limit) + reckless driving (for flooring it in a parking lot) and I think he should've added + endargering by-standers, but there was nobody anywhere near the accident, which was proven by the cameras, they say. Still, I would've done it so that she learns. My car was a freakin' by-stander!! hehe..
Anyways, already spoke to my insurance, her insurance, and my body-shop - Premier, so they will start work (ordering parts) no later than tomorrow. Only headache left is: when the police called the towtruck to move my car from the middle of the parking lot, the towtruck damaged the bottom of my front-lip in the bumper. So I'd have to talk to the towtruck company's insurance for that, but that'd be another deductable, which could add up. So I might just do some more CUSTOM work to that... hehe.
Will keep you posted on what's going on...

THAT'S A LOAD OF BS if THEY are trying to tell you that. On top of that EVEN if it weren't a commercial vehicle it is all stemming from the same incident. ONE deductible. DON'T LET THE INSURANCE COMPANY SCREW YOU!!!!
