R50/53 Mini Cooper Dealer

A friend of mine had a similar experience and it turned out that the key was fine. There was something wrong with the sensor inside of the car, which inevitably had to be replaced. It might be worth the trip to the dealer rather than buying a new key that also won't work due to a faulty sensor. You never know.
