hey DS'ers. I'll post some pics of my mini with new aero kit once it returns from the shop. In the meantime, can I get an opinion on some type of red stripe on DS?
My husband and I have been arguing about it for a week and I want to do a red theme in addition to the silver....ps. I have the red interior

 

ive seen a guy who has a DS/B MINI and he has black stripes with red pinstriping next to the black. It looks good, as long as there is no white, and if there is a black to tone it down a bit. As far as all red stripes...im not so sure how it'd look. Id imagine itd look ok. but i could be wrong.

 

Become1, I've been thinking along your lines also. I have a DS/DS on order (just went from production to awaiting transport today in fact), and i've been thinking about some red/black stripe combo. in fact, i really like the double drop-off/GT 2 look quite a bit, and was thinking of doing this in half red and half black. Not sure i would go for a complete red stripe of any variety by itself, even with black pinstriping around it, but i think red mixed with black or another complimentary color in even or less proportions would work well on the ds. Just my opinion. Thanks.

OK, so to keep this thread on PAGE ONE let's keep modding out DS/x MINIs!
I do at least one mod per week, so here's the latest list:
This week I added the M7 CF Ram Intake, which looks fantastic on a DS bonnet. I put the XM antenna *inside* my stock antenna base, which is the coolest mod for an XM radio enthusiast, because let's face it, that little puck antenna looks like Krap no matter where you put it! I also did the TCE/Wilwood BBK (and I mean *really* big brakes) on 10 days ago.
I will post photos tomorrow, just to ensure the thread doesn't die... because DS never dies!

I think with the red interior w/ red viper (or little thinner) with black pin stripes would look sharp and be something different. I say go for it.

 

I like the red accents. I have red tartan and leather seats and a Alta CAI with red filter and silicone. So I say "Go for the red accents. You'll love it".

 

Here's mine after all the cosmetic mods I did (honda s2000 aerial, aero grill, blacked out belt line, R99's) - now I just need to start working on the go fast stuff.

 

Thanks for the support!! I'm going to do some investigation on red stripes now. I'm not thinking chili red though, perhaps something a shade darker.

SO EXCITED. Just got my MINI back from the shop.

...except when they put on the AERO kit (they also replaced the hood and top grill from accident) they left the top grill the OEM one. My car looks like some kind of half modded monster. I need to call them and yell at them for losing the part and making me look dumb.... more to come

Mine is stock, stock, and more stock. I love this car. Its way fast enough. It gets great gas milage. Pic is at an old drive in theater in Pismo Beach taken 2-07-06.

 

Coop-a-Loop: I don't think so! Not so stock RED rear calipers clearly visible in the photo. Maybe those front ones are red, or even JCW red? Gotcha!

 

Gotta love the grey R99s on a DS MCS.....hmmmm tasty

just thought i share my little... fun donut in the parking lot here.. we've gotten a good dumping of snow these few days:

Congratulations! I love the DS with the black top. Very nice wheel choice.

A bunch of us form SSM (sunshine mini's - http://www.sunshineminis.org/ - ) will be at the castaway on March 12th at 1:30 for brunch if you want to show it off. There will be a pretty good number going to the Phil Wicks school at Sebring April 2 as well.

 

count me in the group now guys. dark silver is the best...and the meanest looking...if mini colors were a gang...dark silver would be the Boss

 

Yes. we have stablished DS is the best color ever.
