Boost Radio Features
OK, I posted this at MINI2 but also wanted to do it here. For you folks that are US living in Europe or travel to Canada, this is a nice find for the radio. By default the radio is set to the country that the car is spec'd for.
Here it is...
OK, after many inquiries about how to turn traffic on, I finally found it. On the US spec car, the radios are preset to the USA. If you are overseas, this is a bad feature as many of the radio stations are on odd numbers. This is easily changed...
1. Turn radio off and then turn it back on. (Do not touch any buttons)
2. Press and hold the "M" button for several seconds. The radio serial number will eventually appear.
3. On the right side of the radio you have a "+" and "-" symbol. These will let you navigate thru the menu.
4. Select the menu that has countries (for USA, it is USA).
5. With that menu selected you can choose Europe by pressing 1. With that, 1-5 will select different countries. FYI, for Canada it is 5...
6. Turn radio off and on again and you should be able to get traffic reports.
Now, I want to get the traffic symbols on my nav like most BMW's can do. Unfortunetly I will have to drive around for a while to see if this works, but I am able to get traffic reports via German radio even when in CD mode. Very nice feature to have as well as being able to get all German radio stations. Setting it back to USA is just as easy.
Just thought that I would share this...
