First problems with my '05

Started hearing a heartbeat type sound when starting the car last weekend. Made appointment to take it in today. By the time I took it in this morning the noise was much louder, started hearing static and other noises coming over the passenger side rear speaker when stereo was off.

On the way to dealer this morning to drop off car, had several instances of large bursts of static and interference on the stereo while it was off. Then noticed that the car was overheating (temp was almost 250). Luckily the light changed so I could start moving again (temp was 11 degrees) so the car cooled a little and I was only a few hundred yards from the dealership.

Turns out the stereo had a short in the radio portion and the dealer will replace it tomorrow when the new one comes in.

The overheating was caused by a faulty thermostat.

Darn, glad you got that all sorted out

So far on my 01/05 build I've had the air bag light come on/off (dealer found nothing), my passenger heated seat switch is not back lit (waiting until first service), and I've got a few creaks in the dash that like to move from here to there . Oh, and I've got the HK door speaker buzz. I will work on that myself.
