DARNIT - forgot to take a picture this morning, I replaced the "CHECKMATE" stickers with stickers done in Magneto font, as the OE ones were getting old... pics later...

Does anyone know of a good, cheap, heat-resistant spray paint that matches the red octagon interior? I'm starting my under-bonnet mods soon and I had planned on having everything painted red before installation and spray paint would work best since I'll be installing things as I acquire them.

it was fairly straight forward, i removed the bumper to put on the front lip. aligned the garage sealer to the proper length i wanted then drilled a guide hole for the bolt/nut. i did the same thing on the side skirt and used a self tapping screw/washer. for the side skirt i trimmed around the front and rear and kind of tapered it off, it looked a little funny so angular. you might be able to see it in one of the pictures

There is good engine paint at Autozone. It is spray and they have high temperature ratings also.

Hmmm....
Might have to get me some gutter mesh.

I have been considering this type of mod for mine for a while. I think I'll get some driving lights to put behind 'em, so I can eliminate the single back-up light and make using my hitch easier....

C ya,
Dutch

Rear Wiper Delete

Caught some nice weather this weekend and did this! Much cleaner look!
Plug, tube stopper, silicone/gun, wd40 = ~$15

Would have been cheaper if they would have had the silicone in a squeeze tube since I didn't have a caulk gun. Also I was out of wd40 but can hardly count that as an expense since I used so very little of it for the project.

To all of you doing the rear wiper delete, how do you live with that back window being being a magnet for dirt?
Even with my rear wiper and washer jet back there I still can't see out the back half the time.
In this winter weather that is, in the summer, it's no big deal.

I am capable of driving perfectly fine without a rear window (I used to drive cargo vans and trucks for a few summer jobs) but I've been rear ended once in the mini, and I've avoided a few rear end collisions since by keeping an eye on my rear mirror

$1.90

$7

the charger was 29.99 @ best buy, no wonder they are headed south

I just did the same thing. I ordered
this this
one from Amazon and it came with a little shorty aux cable. It's like it was made for the Mini. Sound quality is decent. Slightly lower volume but no real loss of quality.

I just did the window sun reflector in the sun roof mod. Just bought the smallest size and cut them up to fit. Now nice and cool inside!

Please help me with info on this . .
do you cut then stick it to to glass.
and when you vent open, (just pop the back open) or slide the whole sunroof open can you leave in place ?

I actually just cut it roughly around the same size as the sun roof opening. So I basically just slid it in and closed the built-in mesh curtain so it does'nt fall off. It's crude but it works!

Get a reflector that's around the same width so the cutting would only be as to length. In my case, one sun reflector was enough for the front and rear sunroof.

Maybe all of us with Left Hand Drive cars could swap mats with those across the pond and they would fit .

Ah right. This only applies to those of us who don't have stock mini mats, like me.

Another free mod, is to cut off the airbag tags on your seats, and use rubbing alcohol to rubb off the instructions on the seat adjustment handles, and car seat instructions on the seat belts!

gotta say, that sounds like a real stupid idea and is going to get a FIREFIGHTER KILLED. Those tags aren't there for you, they are there for US, so we know where to look for airbags.
