How big are the perforations in the sunroof vinyl?? If companies like Cooper Flags and Aesthetic Creations had this stuff in stock, they could just cut them into the appropriate sizes

Too much time on my hands:

So far, $1.39 for the PVC elbow to mount the filter at the right angle. This, so far, is the mockup for fitment and design. The final will be welded and coated on the inside with black heavy duty spray on truck bed liner. HAI to CAI on the cheap!
Apologies for some bad photos; it's cooold out there and the hands they are ashakin'.

This is my favorite interior mod so far! Old school punk rock pins. GBH, Sex pistols, Circle Jerks, Dead Kennedys, Exploited, Misfits, 7 seconds, etc....
I cant remember the cost because most of these are from the early 80's. I do know it's cheap.
Very punk, very british, very old school, very dorky.... I have not seen this yet on any other car let alone a MINI! They look killer on the little raised portion of headliner around the mirror. Its fun to collect them as I find them and add to my collection... Motoring around and seeing this on the headliner with some good punk rock driving through the stereo just adds a little something to the whole experience!
I like it.

I did this with pins collected during our first trip to The Dragon in 2007. I also have a pin of a red little Chilli's resturant chilli pepper dancing pepper, that I tipped our waitress pretty good for.
The hubby didn't like the idea of putting holes through the headliner with these. I did the same thing years ago in another car with all the concert group pins and such. I had about 20 or 30 back then tacked up all over. When I sold the car the pins came down of course. A little rub with a clean finger and the holes disappeared. Besides, it's my car. I'm not worried about pleasing any down the road owners at this time.
Oh.... Also my new black Ipod my wife got me for Valentines day to replace my white one. (black looks soooo much better in a MINI)

Those of you asking about removing "cooper" off the back, those posts are really old so you have probably already done it... but it comes off much cleaner if you use a hair dryer and blow hot air on it for about two minutes before going at it with floss. Done this to 3 of my friends' cars, glue came off completely each time.

I got it from this website:
http://chromeemblems.com/detail.aspx?ID=352
Then took it to a hardware store to have them cut off the "U.S. Air Force" line on the bottom. (it won't fit well with the type on there).
Once I get my wings I'll try to find some good looking, large, pilot wings to put on instead.
[there is a catch. I photoshopped the upclose photo. There was a hole the size of a dime underneath the "mini" wings and two small holes for pegs to go in. The small holes are covered, but part of the big hole remains visible above the star. I'm going to find SOMETHING (probably duct tape) and paint it silver so it's not nearly as visible. Right now I have some gray tape on it and it stands out a bit if you're standing right about the car]

I have standard side scuttles with white turn signals- I felt they were missing something, but I didn't want to spend the $100+ for fancy ones from MINI, so I got a $7 roll of pin stripping from Pep Boys that was one wide piece of tape with multiple width stripes-one of the widths was a perfect fit and trimmed it to follow the inner groove.
I have enough left over to do it about 10x's if it ever gets wrecked- but 4+ months and it still looks good.
My son thinks it looks dorky, but I like it.

I thought they only came in black, but he may have silver too.
In any event, I took a Sharpie silver colored laundry marker and "painted" the caps silver. Took about two minutes while watching TV.
Was somewhat stunned to see that the Sharpie silver color was an EXACT match of my MINI's silver panels. I suspect you could use your touch up paint to make the caps any color you want.
For me, buying on eBay was easier. Since we don't have big box stores in San Francisco going to Lowes would entail lots of fuel, about two hours round trip and other hassles. Certainly not worth it to save $5.
See my gallery for pics of the caps in action.
