I think, Electric Blue was not available for the Cooper in the US, hence it's being so rare. Where did you get yours?

My car was originally ordered at Mini Oakville, near Toronto. I just made a thread for this section with more photos and details on the car, but apparently a mod has to approve it.

 

i bought one a few years ago for my girlfriend off of eBay that was also made for the Canadian market. Hers has a sunroof with a white roof. 

 

Here's my EB/W R53. I picked her up a little under a month ago. It was originally bought and owned in Hawaii.



But she didn't stay stock for long.



I can't wait to have a black roof! I'll be doing it in vinyl in the next week or so.

 

Just picked up this 2003 Electric Blue R53 a few days ago. My first Mini...and I love driveing this car! It's got all of the JCW goodies on it, and runs amazing!!

Should I add some white bonnet stripes...or leave it alone?

 

I think with your black mirror caps, black bonnet stripes might look better. Check my gallery if you want to see how they would look.

 

I went street sign reflective checkers my self! I recommend going the custom route you can all sorts of cool ideas made

I can only imagine you might find one in the sales section but I think this is a hard color to get into,cause soon as you see it in real life it just keeps making you do a double take when you start to walk away..

 

They're not commonly for sale, but they are out there. In the same category as Silk Green, IMHO. Don't know that I'll ever sell my 02...only has 35k on her.

As a matter of fact I do I have 2004 MCS with 49,650 miles in great shape EB with white top and caps two sets of wheels and tires some small mods, alta, one ball, etc. just pm me and i"ll send you pics or whatever. Haven't had time to post to classifieds yet.

 

do you remember what packages came on it, such as sunroof, harmon kardon, etc.can you send some pix and what would the asking price be? also do you have service records or have you done any major repairs, such as clutch, air conditioner compressor, etc.

Yep...I think black stripes would look really good on it. I ordered some of the 3M Di-Noc carbon fiber look vinyl ....I'm going to lay out some stripes in it. I think it would look really good....just need to figure out the style of stripes I need to go with....tow stripes, one big stripe down the center? Any ideas?

 

The traditional look from the Mini rally days is two stripes set on either side, as you see on many MINI's today. The broad stripe down the middle or just off center has an altogether different look, and the stripe is sometimes carried down onto the front fender. Whatever rocks your boat...that's why they call it YOUification.

 

Do hope you throw some pics up with whatever you go with. I'm still in a conundrum over striping style myself.

 

I will definitely throw up some pictures when I'm all done. Hopefully the 3M ni-doc carbon fiber vinyl will come in by this weekend.

Did you do that grill yourself? That lil-mini looks like something I'd greatly miss myself!

 

As for stripes guys a couple color ideas that can work I'd been thinking about are normal white,red,orange,silver,and this one hast to be just the write color brown..now I know brown? Write.. But think about the hot chocolate color out write now,I had to see it in person but it looks really good and has grown on me like white on rice!
