Or before takeoff, break out the nice soft microfiber towel (that's in the boot for just such an emergency), and blot up 90% of the water that would otherwise end up all over you (and the interior ) . If you soak it up beforehand, all the better to deal with "steamy" conditions where you want to open up the car BEFORE you drive off.

The climate controlled glove box is a great place to keep you chocolate bar! I wonder if I could keep my glass bottled cokes in there? (of course, only with the AC on )

I didn't know that they changed how and when the Xenon lights self-leveled in the '06 MINIs.
My '02 MCS Xenons self-leveled visably every time that you turned on the lights. You got this really cool little light show as the bulbs flickered awake, changing color as the bulbs came up to temperature, and then dipped to their lowest setting and then came back up to the propper level.
My '06 MCS Xenons do not do the same thing and leave me quite disappointed as I rather enjoyed the light show. It seems as though what they have done is have the lights self-level as soon as the engine starts regardless of whethter or not the lights are on. So unless you have the light switch turned on before you start the engine you do not get to see the light show.
Heck, if I knew that they changed it I probably would not have gotten the Xenons.

Here are some things that I would like to know about my MINI. Any answers out there?
1. Why does the exhaust make that burbling popping sound on overrun. It's way cool, but what makes the sound?
2. What is the technology used by the Limited Slip Diff? Is it a gear type? Clutch? Viscous? It works very smoothly.
3. Various trade publications talk about the MINI's "modular roof system". What is it?
Thanks in advance!

"place your hand just forward of either rear wheel neer the rocker panel. Reach up and under the wheel well. You will find a flat 4"X4" secret spot no one know about but you. And tens of thousands of fellow U.S. MINI owners."

Probably referring to the "capped" configuration of the roof. I don't know of too many modern cars that have roofs that extend beyond the glass

Super-Size it!
If you lift the armrest, you can fit a normal-sized (or even McDonalds "super-sized" beverage in the rear cup holder without pinching or spilling. May come in handy for those of you who, like me, thought the cup holder attached to the dashboard column looked goofy and had it removed (and were then forced to use 8oz cups in the front cup holders!)

The rubber "coaster" in the rear cupholder removes for cleaning. (Discovered while vacuuming Car84 last night.) Not too exciting or sexy, but I'll keep trying to find new stuff.
The parcel shelf "rear gate effect" is great for steadying the pups to leash their collars prior to egress. I have a car blanket which I flap over my rear bumper before I put/remove anything (or anyone) from the boot, works great!
