I started reading this tread but works starting to catch on to my habits of checking NAM and not working . So to save myself from trouble, anyone know of a quick way to set up they key to make the windows/ sunroof open and close from a distance? Is that something I would have to go to a dealer for?

Dealer, unfortunately. I actually de-programmed this so I wouldn't accidentally open or close things if My key fob were inadvertently squished in my briefcase or pocket. Trait happened on the way into work once, windows opened a crack and it rained, fortunately it was only a crack...

Any help on this?

Is this possible on a 2006 MC? I tried but couldn't get them to budge.

I have a 2006 MCS and mine rotate up and into the downward position. The first time was pretty difficult since it was years before I discovered it could do that.

Should be. I think every MINI has this ability.

Up and into the downward position? Is the final position with the mirror facing the ground? Any chance for a picture?

One of my mirror covers is loose and I'm afraid of forcing too much. And it drives me crazy trying to get the water out of the mirrors after washing.

Thanks.

Radio TiP

Thank you guys for posting the GREAT tip about being able to turn the radio on after you take the key out. That's so cool since I don't like leaving the keys in the car if my teens are waiting for me and want music!

The mirrors swing out and forward leaving them tilted down to drain. Gen2's do the same but not with the power action, that's for inward only.

I tried every which way, and they only swing in towards the window.

Here's a pic of it tilted out. I have a short video I can share, but not in the thread.

Wow. I have owned MINIs for many many years, but never even thought of tilting them forward/downward. Thanks! Gonna try (carefully) immediately!

Good deal. Now if someone can explain why my checkered mirror caps yellow on top and how to fix that, I'd be a happier motoring fool. Yellowing on both Gen1 and Gen2 caps.

When you replace them, try to keep some UV protector wax and/or plastic treatment on them. The yellow won't come out, IMHO...

...yep, my 2013 Clubman is my first new car in a good long while... parked at the airport, some meathead put a nice dent in my new car. I politely left a note on his door. In Sharpie marker. I just learned that with the Emergency Flashers on, if you press the brake pedal, the Emergency Flashers are deactivated and stop flashing and the brake lights get priority.

The same with the turn signals. If the flashers are on and you activate either the left or right turn signal, the emergency flashers deactivate and the turn signal selected gets priority.

That's actually some pretty ingenious thinking to do that.

I discovered this doing a walk-around of my car the check lights.

princej, your car is 11 years old, your factory warranty would be long expired by now. Unless the dealer gave you some kind of warranty, or you purchased one, I'd say you're unfortunately on your own. Unless you have the CVT, there may be some kind of class action deal with that.

Have you looked at the drive axles? They're under the front of the car - the thick metal rod that connects the wheels to the transmission, with a rubber flexy boot at either end to keep the grease in and dirt out of the CV joints. It sounds as if you may have a bad CV joint, which would cause the car not to go in either direction, and which will require an axle replacement....

HTH!

The r52 convertible hatchback inside emergency handle to manually open the door in case of emergency glows in the dark. Turn off the lights and you will see it. Greetings from Spain.

You showed more restraint than I would have.

I would have taken out the trailer hitch and put a dent in every one of his body panels with the 1 7/8" ball....
