Airbag issue 05 MCS Please help

I did a search and couldn't find anything. So tonight I went out to the store and ended up making a u-turn on my way there to go around an island, I come out of the turn and both my pass. airbag light and the airbag light on the speedo are illuminated. I checked the seat, empty. Stop and restart the car a few times lights stay on. I checked the manual, no real help aside from take it to your dealer, which is 100 miles away and not in my plans for tomorrow. Can I go to Autzone and have them check and clear this? Can they clear this? Am I stuck going to the dealer? Should I look into the Peake tool? Any ideas on the cause, w/out a computer reading? My guess is a loose connection some where. Has anyone experienced anything similar, I know there were issues w/ '03 cars but anything on newer models, or if it happened to your 03 what caused it? Should I remove the fuse to prevent an unexpected airbag opening? I feel lost confused and upset any help is appreciated.

you cannot clear airbag codes unless you go to the dealer.

ive heard problem with passenger seat wiring on 05's triggering some of these codes...

you don't happen to have an icelink+ installed??

i removed mine and my airbag, keyfob and tail light issues went away.
i still don't know if it was a shorting issue or an icelink+ failure.

My speedo airbag light came on 30 miles down the road from the dealer when my 05 MCSC was brand new. I called the dealer (which is 165 miles from my house) & described the occurance. They assured me the airbag would not deploy. Since I was in no danger I just let the lil light burn til I had a longer list of repairs to bring to the dealer. I suggest you just call your dealer, describe your occurance, & be sure there is no safety risk. If it is safe then I would wait til you need to go in for something else & get it repaired then.

F.Y.I...turned out my light came on due to a faulty seat belt latch (thingy? ). Sorry I can't explain better than that but I can't remember the details. They replaced the seatbelt latching mech & all was fine.

Well that puts my biggest worry at a little more ease, I will call the dealer tamorrow for their input. Does anyone know of a tool that would get the code so I could have a little more info when I talk to my dealer?

Well life got in the way and I'm calling the dealer in the morning to sched. for fri am (hopefully). Any more input on what it could be or ?? to ask the SA.
Also my tach went nuts this after noon wouldn't move restart car (while doing 70mph) and it was pushing downward way below 0 rpms when I was in third a fifty. I went to get a scan tool walk out turn on the car everything runs fine
now I'm really ???? and scared its a serious electrical issue.
As a precaution I have since stopped using radio, fan, defroster and anything non critical to run the car.
