one last look..

i dont know about anyone else.. but i love just looking at my car and taking in all its beauty. i look at it out the window, (driving past store fronts and see its reflection in the windows) pictures. you name it. I love my car.. back to the point. i noticed a few days ago that i do something alot. i do the. "the last look" as i like to call it. i get out, lock it and walk. 20 feet away, i turn around and give it the once over. just to look , take it all in and make sure everything is fine. anyone else do this?? or am i just overly crazy.. however, i dont feel all bad, becuase everyone in here is on a forum for their cars.. so hit me with your best shot.. fire awwwaaay

Your quite sane. This has been discussed before. There is an article in Slate Magazine where the author gives all the test cars the "glance back look" meaning, after you park it, do you look back. OR, coming out of the Mall (for example), do you look forward to the drive home.

Very few cars make the "glance back test" (OK, very few normal ppl can afford!)

Everytime.
Sometimes I even go behind a pillar and "surprise" myself with a glance

Hah......thats funny, i do exactly the same thing whenever i leave my car parked anywhere, specially when i leave it at the parking lot at work knowing that im not gonna see it for 8 hours (unless i go somewhere for lunch), so we are all quite normal here our cars beg to be looked at

Yes, I do this all the time, too. I'm not saying it is normal overall, but it is probably typical for MINI owners. After all....WE have something worth looking at!!!

Now the surprising yourself thing....that's just plain crazy!

Yes everyday. I have been caught walking into the plant backwards enjoying my view. Parked neatly on the end of the aisle, 15 feet from a door, door has a window, phone on a pole inside the door, getting a chance to take a calls a dozen times a day with a perfect view of my cooper. That's Priceless. Do I need help?

I do the glance back, but I always have, with any and every car I drive, thanks to OCD I glance back to make sure the door is fully closed, lights are off, windows are up, sunroof is closed, obsessive stuff like that.

How can you NOT look at your MINI? It's a great car. Glad to see this thread and all the posts. I thought maybe I was maybe over doing it a bit, but now I feel normal.

Haha, I do this All the time, especially since I park in a garage every day. When I park in front of the building where I work, and have to walk across the overpass to the other building, I just stare at my Mini the whole way, and try not to run into other people!

Only one glance back? How about go inside then go back out and look again then go back inside then look out the window?

I do the last look all the time! I also have a tic: I lock it, walk away a bit, then turn around, look at it again, and lock it again!

Where I use to work my office was on the ground floor and I could park right outside my window where I could see my car from my desk. When I was having a bad day or was on a really boring conference call I enjoyed being able to look out and see my MINI. It seem to be saying just a few more hours and it will be time to drive again.

I also like coming out of some place and while walking up to my car seeing someone walking by and checking it out.

Having dinner tonight in the local IHOP I of course asked for a table where I could see my car. That was seveal hours after I had lunch at Judy's coffee house with , you guess it ,a front window seat. My wife has learned to give me the seat facing the car What ? Come on everybody does this don't they?

I take at least one glance back, usually twice...once to look at the car, and once to visually verify that it is locked...lol

Where I work, I have the opportunity to gaze out into the parking lot.....every time I look at it, it just looks cooler and cooler. I still find myself thinking, "I can't believe I have a MINI!"
