Should I or should I not be paranoid?

So, day by day the weather gets warmer and warmer here in Montreal, which means...lower the windows and open the sunroof BUT i have a problem...im paranoid! about the sunroof flipping off its tracks at highway speeds. Should I be paranoid or can I open it with any worries or hesitations?

Keep in mind that this is the first summer i drive my Mini.

Thanks
Giancarlo

don't worry.. it won't flip off it's tracks. that's crazy. I don't think I've ever heard of that happening with any factory installed sunroof. even if it did, it would be covered under warrantee... but I think you'd have a better shot at the lottery.

No worries with the MINI sunroof! It's very well-designed and sure, it's loud to have it open at highway speed, but it's solid and secure. I love having it open and the windows down as I blast along the highways!

Mini sunroofs are much different than Corvette t-tops. No need to worry, mate. Our sunroofs can take it!

Open and enjoy. The fresh air gushing in is a GREAT feeling. I highly doubt the sunroof will come track at ANY speed.

Maybe you're thinking of the issues Toyota had with Scion Tc moonroof wind deflectors shattering. Don't sweat it. Ive had mine open at 75-85mph for extended periods with no problems at all. Jimbo

You may have a problem with the excessive wind noise, but I don't think anything will fly off.

There are few things in life that are more enjoyable than motoring in the morning with the roof open and windows down. This is definitely not something you want to miss out on.
