Can you be a bit more specific about where the sound is coming from? Is it inside or outside? Is it a rattle, a squeak, a vibration, a buzz, or what?

How about info on when the sound occurs (acceleration, going over bumps, and, and, and...)?

Well since we are on the subject...I've noticed a noise coming from the rear (sounds like right side) and inside the car (but you know how sound can be tricky-could be outside). But I always thought it was something with my kids child seat. But the other day I took the seat out with all his toys and the noise was still there. The rattle sounds like 2 small pipes (hollow sounding) taping together when going over bumps or rough roads. Anyone get this?

Do you hear the sound going over the expansion joints on a cement highway??? If you have a single passenger, can they hear it, but it comes from a different area??? Does it sound as though it is coming through the body of the car???? I have encountered all three of these and it has driven me nuts. The following is what I have done to cure my problem.

Have you replaced the stock rear sway bar??? Then it is most likely that:
  1. the collars that hold the sway bar to the frame might be just a little bit loose, causing it to bump against the frame
  2. if the sway bar has locking collars of ends, to prevent lateral movement, one or both may have slipped or became or
  3. the bushings need to be greased again.
If you have not replaced the sway bar, then #3 above could also be the cause of you noise. Grease does wear out after a while....

Good luck

Or, the swaybar mounting bushing has failed and needs to be replaced.

Rattles/non-specific noises are kind of like that - a scavenger hunt of sorts.

When sndwave's BLU MENE started rattling, he thought it had something to do with his Milltek Exhaust, but it turned out to be that his 02 MCS's back-up light was loose and wiggling.

So did anyone actually ever figure out what this is? I have the same rattle coming from the back right section when going over ruff sections of road. Usually doesn't happen on one bump but multiple bumps will make it rattle.
