Trip computer + 30.9, by hand came out to 30.2. Pretty damn impressive I'd say!
Just out of curiosity, doesn't shifting like that lug the engine at all? I was always taught that you never want to accelerate at too low RPM's, at it puts extra stress on all the engine parts.

With my Cooper, doing mostly city driving, I normally fill up at 240 miles and thats about 11 gallons to refill. If I'm lucky, I can stretch that to 280 or 290 and have to fill 12 gallons. Doing mostly freeway driving doing 340 to 380 miles is feasible. My OBC tells me I'm doing about 22 to 24mpg.

I'm getting right around 30 mpg with my '06 MCS - 95% highway mileage at 75 mph. This is measured and the OBC has it about .5 mpg higher (the OBC seems to be getting more accurate). I have around 5600 miles on the car and mostly run without AC (sunroof and windows open). My wife's '05 MCSa gets around 27 MPG (all short trip except I drive it once a week on my 76 mile round trip to work).
