I've come across many threads about damage done due to improper towing of our MINIs and threads about certain types of tow hooks. But, I've not found anything definitive on the issue.
What is the proper way to tow our MINIs and what is needed to do it right?
Flatbed, have the driver attach vehicle using tow hooks on both ends (MINI only provides you with ONE tow hook in the tool kit so you'll need a second one).
It is also ok for them to carefully attach a nylon strap to the wheels. If they try to attach to any part of the car other than the hooks or the wheel, they will probably damage something
Guess I better get my read on in the manuel, something I didn't even think of...duh!. Thanks for the tip on the second hook, I'll look into picking one up.
just wondering on this towing issue, if my car was to get tow from a whatever parking spot by towing comapny (touch wood !) do they tow the front? or the back?
if you don't trust other people with towing your mini, you may want to cosider doing it yourself. that is what i do, i bought an old auto transport trailer from uhual a while back, only after my boyfriend's father had recommended it, and it surely does wonders!
