I'm so excited! I'm going to Motor City Mini tomorrow afternoon to order my mini. I don't really think I'll sleep tonight! I've been on MiniUSA and have decided on exactly what I want to order and I just wanted to know if you have any advice or anything I should be sure to ask about when I order it? Thanks for the help!

Well, I'm in Michigan so it's hot (high 80's to 90's) for maybe 3 months out of the year. My Cherokee that I'm driving now has a sunroof and I love it! So my mini will have to have one as well. Basically I'm going with Pure Silver and a black top, chrome bumper inserts, Premium, Sport, and cold weather packages, CVT, Xenons, rain sensing wipers/auto dimming mirror, HK audio, and I want to get driving lamps too. I'm not going to be very productive at work tomorrow...

Hey Butiflfeet!! Great to hear you're putting in an order! The only MA at MCM tomorrow is David Harting (my dude!). David Green is out of town, and Jamie (the recieptionist) is sick

Your options sound great! Have fun, cheers,
Ryan

Identical to the one I'm configuring except for the xenon's and sound...

Curious, what interior are you considering? I've penciled in the red tartan with the PS/B.

congrats!! I hope your wait isn't too painful. The color combo you picked is my favorite. I think the silver with the black top look devastatingly beautiful!!

My only recommendation is to order all the accessories from Classic MINI. Here's the pricing of some of the items I have bought from them:

Union Jack $129.00
Carpet mats $68.10
Rubber boot mat $40.00
Sun shade $38.00
Oil filter $5.92
Cargo net $25
wiper blades ~$3.20 ea.
Driver's side Shelf (complete kit) $60.64

Don't do it. If you think you won't be able to sleep tonight because you're ordering it tomorrow, then don't order it. Find one that's already in someone's lot which is as close to what you want and buy it now. The waiting and tracking sucks big time. I only had to wait 2 month and I thought it would never get here. This was the first time I've ever ordered a car and it will definately be my last. Probably by the time you order one and it get's here, dealerships will probably be ready to sell below MSRP anyway. I ordered my MCS because I didn't particularly like the alloy patina dash, so I wanted mine with the silver dash that comes in the Cooper. Well guess what, somebody screwed up somewhere along the line and my MINI shows up with the alloy patina dash anyway. If I'd had any idea that was going to happen, I'd bought one off the lot. So, IMO go buy one that already built and start motoring today.

Your package sounds great. I have found the one thing that is a must are the Xenon headlights. They are awesome. However, I don't think the driving light are necessary unless you just want that look. The high beams shoot way out there. I had to wait about 6 weeks and it wasn't that bad. I actually enjoyed the wait it was kind of like Christmas. My suggestion would be don't spend too much time with the delivery month clubs. Too many people whine too much! The car is worth the wait.

I'd have to agree with Mundo Mini...if a car is on a lot (...most of them are pretty well equipped) and its close to what you want, get it. (...even if you have to go out-of-state.) Waiting can be really tough. As for me, the options on my car were very specifically selected...so it would have been difficult to find one on the lot, and I waited 3 months. Anyway, its worth considering this before placing that order.

Nice choice of color, I drive the same- PS/B MC. Must haves: sports seats, MFSW, 5 speed. Nice to haves: sunroof, heated seats. I can't imagine driving this car w/out a standard shift. Too much fun to be had stirring gears during winding road runs. If you can travel to get one on a lot, that would be way cool. The wait is hard, but it's well worth it, and in some ways, it's part of the whole MINI experience for many of us. Good luck

I ordered it today! I was pretty set on what I wanted, especially the color. They didn't have anything on the lot like what I wanted so I put my order in for delivery around the first week of June! Two months doesn't sound too bad to me. I'm getting exactly what I want and at MSRP. The only thing is with the driving lamps. I'm going to get them eventually but I don't want to pay the $800+ to get them dealer installed. Only two months and I'll have my mini!!!

If you're going to do a lot of in-town driving I could see getting a regular Cooper. but if you plan on some road trips and can swing it with the budget go for an "S" model with a 6 speed.
