Dealer service

I was not sure where to put this thread. It is related to dealer service.

I wanted to give Kudos to Mini of PeaBODY, MA FOR PROVIDING EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE. In my instance, I am the second owner of an 03 MCS. After I had the car serviced for the 25K mark at Mini of Peabody,MA, I was told by the service manager that my brake pads were getting thin and probably would have to replace them within a year. She advised getting the extended warranty for $599 as this would cover the cost of brake pads and rotor replacement ( Mini,USA doen't even think of doing one without the other) which runs around $1100. Also an additional oil change and any other service would be covered for an additional year. Well, shortly after my visit, I called in my credit card number to the dealer to get the extended warranty. When I went in for a 36000 check, I was told that I was not registered with MINI,USA as having the warranty. After both the dealer and I checked our records , it turns out that the then manager who has subsequently moved on( I can see this is a tough job pleasing us Mini owners), had not put my request and payment info into the system and thus I truly had no additional coverage. Well the dealer manager called me personally, apologized and offered me a great deal. If any combination of repairs, and or service during the next year exceeds $599, then the dealership will cover the additional expense, so if I do not need any repair, I am not even out the $599.
I just wanted to let others in the Boston area know how great they have been to me! Thank you....MINI OF PEABODY. DAZ

I'm not sure i would call that exceptional service since they didn't enroll you for the extended warranty you wanted and tried to pay for, but I understand that you want to give them credit for doing right by you now.

It sounds like a manager transition goof up. It's great to know that they made everything right. Although I think I would have noticed that my CC was $599 lighter than it should have been.
