Fellas, what were you thinking? The new logo is obviously a six-speed shifter ****. Does this mean the group is solely for MCS owners or perhaps just those who have manual transmissions? For those of us who proudly drive CVT-equipped MCs, I don't exactly find this inviting. If I may exaggerate to make a point; if you were to use a cross as the 'new logo', any number of jews, muslims, atheists, pagans and whatever would clearly see this as a not-so-subtle message: 'Sorry, we don't want YOU here'. Change it back; it was just fine the way it was.

Look again, it's a 5 speed pattern (remember reverse is in there too).

There is already a thread on the new logo in Site Feedback

The logo works for both the Cooper and the S. The old one was a little too similar to the MINI logo for my liking (not really unique to MCO).

I don't see the reverse on the logo so that would make it a 5 speed. Right?? I like it either way but whatever you all want majority rules.

Geez Michaeld chill out. Is everyone in Jersey so uptight. Maybe you would feel better if they got all 3 shifters, and every possible color combination available!!!!!!

I agree with 2minis. It looks MUCH better boxed as on his link.

As far as alienating those with automatics...um, who the heck cares?

Ummm well I for one drive a CVT and I would hope that noone would alienate me. Unless I read that comment wrong, it was a pretty rude thing to say.

As far as the logo goes....I wouldn't say it stinks. It's simple and clean and that is good. I can get what MichaelD is saying about it not being all inclusive, because I don't personally drive a manual, but I also don't really care. It's not like I would ever stop coming here because of it.

The shift-gate pattern is a metaphor for automotive enthusiast performance.

Jsun was right in his prediction, if you don't know it, read the more emotionally neutral thread in Site Feedback.

Cheers,
Ryan

Gimee a break! A Logo is a Logo! The content is what we come for and this site is the best one out there. The logo could change a hundred times and there will always be someone that can't deal with it! Move on!!

I agree...as I've said, I don't come here because of the logo. I could really care less. I don't find it offensive. But we are a community here and it's nice to take everyone into consideration when making a change. I honestly don't think that anyone would stop coming here because they don't like the logo, but it's cool to hear everyone out first. I am sure Mark knew he would get lots of different comments on this....and you can't please everyone all of the time.

Whoa! Easy with the name-calling L! Odd coming from someone who says this is a site where we like to be nice to each other. Very passive/aggressive!
Anyhow, I'm sorry you don't agree with my opinion about the CVT. We'll agree to disagree, I guess.

I'm sorry, but I would never sit on a site where everyone is friendly with one another and say things that insinute that I think YOUR car sucks or is pointless. That is just not how it works. So yes....your comment was a "jerky" thing to say. Sorry I had to point that out, but it was. Maybe you should think about the fact that you may be insulting people on here by saying things like that before you say them. I get along with everyone on here for the most part and everyone on here knows that I am always trying to be a nice person, but what you said was pretty unnecessary.

There I am now done. Back to being little miss sweetie L.Mini.

MIchaelD - you can't be serious, can you? Comparing a logo for a MINI site to a Cross and religion???? What????

That's absurd! It's a logo and nothing else. I think it looks cool and even if I didn't think so, who cares? It's a logo. This site is still the same site with the same people in the same forums. Chill, dude, chill....

^ ^ As I said...people on here know that I am normally very nice. I just stick up for my fellow MINI Motorists that don't have a manual tranny when people like you make fun of them.

And thank you, 2minis! I hope your eye is feeling fine and I will see you in a couple of weeks.
