Steering Angle Stop for 18" JCW Wheels
I'm sorry for the double posting, but I posted this question previously in the Tires forum and didn't hear back from anyone. My question is this: Can someone tell me why I do or don't want to have the steering angle stop installed when I put some 18" JCW wheels on my '06 MCS Convertible? The JCW catalog indicates that the steering angle stop is necessary. The parts department at my dealership has been told by service that they are NOT necessary. Can someone tell me what the best course of action is?
Thanks!

My dealer installed them when I had my 18" JCW wheels mounted and advised me that they remove such a tiny range of movement at the end of each steering radius that you would never encounter the stop in normal driving.
MY only question is that I will be rotating soon to my 17" bullet wheel snow tires - and I assume they will just leave the stops on when the wheels are changed and it should make no difference.... I will ask though and let you know.
