Hey,
I have been looking around on ebay, and I found a set of the white brake lights, and the person is only about an hour and a half away from me. Right now it is only $100. Is that a good price?

agreed, that that's a great price for them. if you can nail a set for less than 250, then you are looking at a bargain. most places have those priced between 250 and 299.

are there different brands for the white lights? If so, which is the best one and which one should you stay away from?

Dear jivanivan:
I have the white tail lights (retail price $290 for all 3 lights) and as far as I know there is only one set available that is from Mini and sold as an accessory part. It is completely white not like other Altezza lights. Maybe later there will be other white style lights. Sometimes it is sold as a pair with only the two tail lights and sometimes the full three piece set which includes the top mount 3rd brake light in white.
In addition, in the US you are required to have red rear reflectors so an additional reflector kit is available for about $35 from the dealer that mounts on the back bumper. An alternative is to buy some adhesive reflectors that are round or oval and place them into the sides of the rear bumper slots on the black plastic grille or the like on a cooper.
There is also an install kit for $123 more but I did not get it and did not need it when I installed my lights.

I hear that this Kit is for boosting the power for the red brake lights, which look a bit Pink. (this takes the power from the "English" rear driving lights, that we do not need. BUT I also hear that there is a way to loop a wire and boost this light?
Anyone know about this?

Are you talking about the brake light mod?? This enables the top part of the tail lights to work in addition to the lower light whenever you brake. I have the clear lights and the brake mod works fine with these too. I got a "gimme a brake light" kit from mini-rolls, but others have just used a paper clip to connect the #4 and #1 wires.

The ebay lights are a great price, but don't let anyone talk you into the reflector kit. The whole idea is to get rid of the red, not add more. I think the price is low because it only includes the two tail lights and not the third brake light (top). Maybe it's just not pictured, but that's my guess.
