hello all,

watch out when bidding for H7 bulbs on ebay because i just got ripped off. i bought a set of bulbs from ebay auction and it wasn't what he or she advertise. "Made in Japan" MTEC 5250K bulbs, as it's advertise on ebay auction. the bulbs that i got was not only not MTEC, but it's not even new. worst yet, the bulbs doesn't even fit the plastic packaging that the bulbs are display in. i'm convinced that these are Taiwan bulbs.

i emailed the seller and he/she said they don't sell Taiwan bulbs and that if i want, i can send him/she another $15 for a replacement set and that i didn't need to return the wrong or fraudulent set.

watch out for the following sellers because i think they are the same person.

watch out for:

M3daytrader and f360power.

Thanks for the warning. I think we all know the pitfalls in dealing on Ebay and I share your pain. I just bought a set of 17" S-lites and tires in "excellent" condition with 1500 miles on them. When they showed up, one rim had been scarred, and the 2 front tires were almost down to the wearbars. After emailing the guy and getting his reply, I just chalked it up to the fact that the guy was a liar and scumbag, but short of going through an out of state court case, there was really nothing I could do. Ah. experience!
I believe anyone who deals with ebay for any length of time will run into characters similar to the one's we've met.

eBay really is the land of "buyer beware" -- or "seller beware", for that matter. I have never had a bad buy or sell in the three years or so I've been dealing on eBay, however. I've bought everythng from books to guitars in the range of $10 to $700.

You really have to pay attention to the seller's (or buyer's) rating -- any negatives that seem justified should be an immediate tip off (though if they have one negative from early on and 80 positives, consider that they might have redeemed themselves). As with everything, you get what you pay for so don't expect to buy gold for the price of lead.

Be sure you rip 'em a new one when you put in your feedback. That transaction sounds 'way bogus.

UPDATE!

hello all,

i already gave him/her a negative feedback, but that's not enough. i spoke to my credit card company, and they told me to send the product back so they (my credit card company) can dispute the charges. i know he/she's is going to return a negative feedback, so why should i let him/her keep my money. the short answer is no! they're not going to keep my money.

we all drive minis on form or another, and just don't want you guys to suffer the same faith that i have regrading fog light bulbs.

carefully motoring to all,

bbt4

Sorry to hear about your bad experience on Ebay. I bought some H7 bulbs from globalprimier on Ebay and have been using them for three months with no problems. They are 100w, 5100K and I paid $25.00. I am happy with them I wish they were a little brighter but they will never replace a real Xenon bulb setup. As far as Ebay goes, I have only been burned once in 100 transactions. You just need to be careful who you buy from.

that is a major bummer.
question, have any of you thought about buying a car through ebay? You would have to have it inspected by someone who is legitimate, probably the local dealer of that brand. That would make a cool road trip. Go fly somewhere and drive the car back.

Ebay does have insurance to reimburse you some of your loss.I purchased two faKE WATCHES ON eBAY FOR BIG BUCKS.I had to involve out of state police to get my money back on the second one.In my experiance Ebay's a good venue for affordable purchases, not bid dollar items.

I buy and sell on E-bay and have never gad a problem.Just lucky I guess.I try to only buy from someone with 100 percent positive feedback. Also use Paypal with a charge card so things can be disputed if needed.I have also sold worldwide using wire transfers.

I also buy and sell on eBay and I also have never had a bad experience.

MAN, I've passed up many many purchases due to sellers negative feedback though.

I was worried once when a buyer had zero-feedback and shades and the first email
address bounced :???:

But I called on the phone, he didn;t know he had a bad email address in the database,
and he completed the transaction perfectly.

So, pass on the bad feedbacks, and cross your fingers.

A professional Ebayer gives you his sympathy. Scum like that really messes up the spirit of Ebay. I will bid higher for someone with feedback in the thousands and I never bid from people with negative feedback.

However, I wouldn't go so far as to bid only from people with 100% positive, because mine isn't 100% positive - someone tried to scam my dad by not posting the shipping price, and it turned out the be 2x the cost of the item - it was a total scam but he left bad feedback when we didn't pay.

buyer beware is dead right.

Oh, and I have bought a car through Ebay! I paid under 10k for a 1977 Black Stingray Corvette - great deal. I had a cousin who lived in Broward county go to check out the car with a mechanic, and then shipped it to California for $600. Funny part of the story - my dad got into the car when they shipped it here and couldn't get it to start - it turned out, after we towed it to our house, he just didn't push the clutch in hard enough but overall it was a great experience and I love the car.

I agree with this also. I read the actual negative comments, and sometimes it's
pretty obvious that the deal just went bad even though the seller tried. I'll buy
from them anyway.

Now several negatives from different buyers saying similar things

And of course watch out for the guys who get their friends to bid up the price
in the middle of an auction.

I bid what I want, and wait for the email. Sometimes it's hard not to peek, and
then just bid a little higher, but it's really worth it for the peace of mind.

I am not sure if this will help---Write a "negative" feedback to his Ebay Account.
Maybe Ebay will do close his account.

Oh, believe me, he got negative feedback. I've been buying and selling on ebay for 3 years and found out no matter how hard you try to avoid them, you'll eventually run across an idiot. My biggest problem with buying is that a lot of people have rather strange ideas of the definitions of words like Excellent, Near-mint, and like-new (rare is actually another one that needs to be added to this list).
It's a good idea to actually read someone's feedback (as mentioned earlier). I've acquired 5 or 6 negatives, but they've all been from people I had given negative to.
