is it safe/ okay?

... to get my mini cooper (not s) up to 6000 rpms for about 10-11 seconds? it has a cvt and 1050 miles on it. i got it the day before halloween.

As long as the engine was well warmed up before you hit 6000rpm, should be no problem.
According to some school of thoughts it's even better for new engines to red line every once in a while (as long as the oil is warm of course).

sounds like it was safe. Even though it's possible to break engine by revving alone, in modern cars....the injectors usually shut off before you succeed.
