A friend of mine with an 06 MC was in a wreck yesterday. Turning through an intersection on the green arrow someone ran the red light and hit her broadside at 50 mph (police estimate). Offending vehicle was a Honda Accord.

The side airbags deployed - she was taken to the hospital but released a few hours later after tests confirmed she was fine.

The good news - the local police were STUNNED at how well the car held up. They could not believe the cabin integrity and that literally my friend could have walked away from this one. The front end on the Accord was just about gone.

If I get some pics of her Cooper I'll post them. These are amazing little cars!

 

Glad your friend is unharmed. Please pass on my condolences for the loss of her MINI. I'll be curious to see the photos.

That is Fantastic to hear that your friend was not hospitalized, and one of the reasons I am purchasing an 07 MINI. Safety, Handling, Looks, the Mini has it all in my opinion, and I'm an older person (55). I hope your friend buy's another car of this caliber.

Where/when did it occur and are they CMMC??? Glad to hear she's ok too...

A friend at work told me about a guy in a MCS DS/B who was in a ditch (either WED or THUR evening). He was driving and was cut off by another vehicle. the MCS looked fine and he declined help from my friend (who was in a Jeep).

 

Always good to hear people are OK when in an accident of any kind.

Yes it looks like Mini can take a blow and hold up well.

And 55 is young and wiser .
