R50/53 Mini engine in a BMW motorcycle....

>>The latest issue of Motorcyclist arrived yesterday and one of the articles mentioned that BMW was putting a derivative of the Cooper S engine into one of the BMW motorcycles for something like 2005. That should be interesting.... 160 horsepower in a 450-500 LB bike.
Most beemers way more like 1000 lbs. OK, maybe that's an exageration, but they're more than 500 lbs.

The K bikes probably weigh ~ 500.
The RS has 135 hp now, I think.
My R1100R weighs around 500 and has 85 hp.
If I wasn't on 56k I'd look up exact numbers.
I was talking to a BMW bike sales guy the other
day and he said something big was coming but
I find it hard to believe they'd use an S engine
when the K bike engine (1200cc) is already putting
out 135 hp. Doesn't make any sense.
