I searched this forum and have yet to find a definitive fix other that have the dealer take a shot at it. Here is my issue: When driving on rough roads or in low gear there is a buzz coming from the ellipse on the drivers side door -- not a real loud buzz, but just enough to **** me off. I know it's the ellipse because when I lightly place my elbow on it, the buzzing stops. Have tried squeezing folded up electrical tape in between the adjoining parts where I think the plastic-to-plastic noise is coming from but am still getting the buzz. My dealer is 250 miles from me. Anyone have much luck in eliminating the buzz themselves? THE CONSTANT BUZZ IS DRIVING ME NUTS!!!!!

I have the same exact buzz, haven't fixed it yet but i've noticed that if I lightly touch the screw closest to me on the ellipse, the buzzing stops, so I'm thinking that a quick tighten of that screw should cure it.

Thanks, but have tried combinations of loosening and tightening the three screws attached to the ellipse but still no luck! Surely someone in this forum has figured this out

Found this in Mini2. I think it will solve our problem, folks:

Door Buzz Fix

Looks like a simple fix. I'm gonna give it a try this weekend.

My passenger door did this. Its actually the panel itself. I took 4 of those rubber O-rings that you put in between a spray nozzle and a hose, used a screwdriver to pull the panel out a bit, and put two on the bottom, and two on the side. Its unnoticeable, and worked great. Hope that helps.

I just did the fix similar to the MINI2 post this last week.
Took each panel off and ran adhesive backed felt around the edges of the panel and over each clip, and where the screws go through.
So far I cannot hear any buzzing, vibrating or any other noises that had irritated me so much before.

There IS some very slight felt on the door edges already so maybe it is the clips that vibrate, or maybe there is not enough around the edge ... but anyway if you take the door panel off, you might as well cover everywhere.

Door panels are NOT difficult to remove; just take care not to scratch anything.

Really? I couldn't get my door panels off for some reason. All the paneling in my car has been stubborn, from removing the rear seats (which I'll never do again, they didn't go back in right, and scuffed up the plastic bigtime. The driver side clip broke, so I have duct tape around the prong to keep it from rattling... just like you have to do in a Jeep after awhile, lol.) to trying to get the passenger kick panel off to install my rally lights' relay. That was a pain to install without taking the panel off.

Wooooohoooooooo! I finally got around to removing the door panel and stuck adhesive felt in every conceivable part of the panel. Took her out for a test drive and no buzzing! Let's hope it holds up. Cost: $10; total time spent - 1.5 hrs.

Door Buzz Update:

They came back. Pulled the door panel and taped up lock rod, placed tape over the female receptacles of the door panel pins and the @#$% buzz is gone! Am getting ready to do same to the passenger side.
