I had a police officer pull me over one day. I couldn't for the life of me guess why, I was sitting at a stop sign. My heart was in my throat when I rolled the window down and he asked: "Ma'm how much does that car cost and where can I get one?"
Whew!
This weekend I went a ride with my bike club. When I pulled up in the MINI, I got mobbed! No one could believe that I was able to put my bike in the car!
Life is never dull in a MINI!

>>This weekend at the meet, some school bus driver stuck his head out the window and said "Didnt those go out of style 40 years ago?"
>>
>>Keep driving your school bus *** wipe.

He's probably one of those types that drives a hip Nova.

Well, it was in the parking lot of a Sheetz in Wild, Wonderful, West by god Virginia:
"If you rub it, does it grow?"
and then... "Is there an engine in there?" (yes.) "Where?" (Bonnet) "You mean it fits? Is it a matchbox engine?" (Yes. And a matchbox supercharger, too...)

I am frequently asked "What kind of mileage do you get?". I reply"I don't know." because I don't know, and I don't care. I have over 7,000 miles and have NEVER checked my mileage! Isn't that great! I can drive for hours just for fun and have no concerns about the mileage. I could not say that when I drove my old 400 c.i. Firebird on student funds.

Just yesterday an older couple practically beat me down with questions while I was giving Cricket a shine. The first thing out of the man was, "What is it?" My answer, "A MINI Cooper." Followed with, "What's that?" Me thinking, "It's a car brainiac!" My real reply,"It's a British car put out by BMW." (that was me dumbing it down a bit as to not confuse him). Eeeek! I think I'm going to make up cards and just start handing them out with diagrams and definitions!
I don't know how many times I've been asked, "How do you like it?" I guess it's mostly an ice breaker for most people 'cause I'm pretty sure the ear to ear grin I've had for the last 8 months is pretty self explanatory!!!

I forgot one... and I'll try to put this tactfully because I really don't mean any offense.
I was in the left turn lane when a black gentleman driving a pristine black Lincoln Navigator pulled up along side, rolled down his window and with a distinctive, how can I put it? "ebonics accent" said; "Who makes dat? ...Su-ZOO-ki??
(I guess he saw the red "S"

One time I was driving down the street and this big cadillac with 20" gold daytons and mariachi music blasting came up beside me and there were 2 tough looking hispanic dudes riding in it, they looked over and I tried not to look or draw any attention (kinda hard when your in a MINI) and the passenger in the cadi said to me as we were goin down the street "Hey vato! how much was that *****!"
it was the funniest thing I've ever heard

Today a guy in a big panel van pulled up on my rider's side and motioned for me to open the window. "What IS that?" I told him. "Who makes it?" A division of BMW. "Is that a full sunroof?" Yup. "What does a thing like that set you back?" I gave him a clue. "Cool, I always wanted to know..."

I get alot of people asking how I like it, if it's good on gas. I've also had a few people who had no idea what it was ask me if it was a Chrysler! What is it about this car that makes people think it's a Chrysler? Is it just the retro-styling connection between the MINI and the PT Cruiser, or is it the wings logo?
