Youre right. Just checked mini usa and indeed it is the stock aero. I love the grill. I think its an after market item at my dealership ie an dealer install, so Im definately gonna add it to my car! Just love it
Did youre dealer install those bonnet stripes too?
Yessir! Usually the strips do not extend that far down the nose. I've seen that look on a Viper and I made the call! Cost another $40 but well worth it.
A question for the group... What was the delivery process like for you at your dealer? How long, what did they do, anything noteworthy, etc?
Mine was quite disappointing after hearing about the experience others had (unveilings, etc.). I drove 3 hours to the dealer; spent 30 minutes filling out paperwork and my MA handed me the key and said my brand new MCSC was parked out front. I checked it over as best I could in the freezing cold, then asked her to put gas in it and clean a grease spot on the carpet. She spent about 5 minutes going over the controls of a somewhat similar MCC in the showroom, handed me my manual and second key and wished me good luck. Huh? Needless to say, I won't be going back to that dealer unless I have to! We've got a new one opening up in a month or two that'll be less than an hour away. I've got my fingers crossed!
Ozarkgolfer - The stripes and the blacked out Aero grill make for a really nice look ... Congrats on the new MINI, hope you get to have some good topdown weather soon!
Do yourself a favor Banjo, the dealership should have a list of programmable options (auto door lock, etc.) that you can fill out, so that when you get there to pick it up you can learn how to use all the buttons the way you want them right away. If they don't have a list, or you didn't already fill one out,ask them to get you one. It makes pick-up day more fun.
Well, no where near as fun as the news from Sasha and Ozark, but I did get official notification that our personalized license plate (SPF O) has been approved and begun production...
... and we sold our "trade-in" car this weekend on Craig's List to make room for "Wellington" - now I can work on cleaning out the garage!

The story of Wellington's name: My wife and I are Realtors. About a year ago we contracted on a new construction home what we planned on using as a rental. A couple of months ago we started thinking about buying a new car, but had decided to hold off since we would be inking the money into the rental property. Then, a client of ours was looking at houses and decided that what they really wanted was a house that isn't available - the same model as our rental house. So, we decided to sell the house to them and put our money towards a MINI Cooper Convertible.
The house is a "Wellington" model, so the MINI got it's name.
By the way, his full name is Sir Wellington Whitesilver, Earl of Oxford.
Tomorrow my ship comes in (Monday). The patriot is scheduled to dock in NYC on Monday and my new sidewalk is on board. If all things go well I might be able to pick it up on Saturday!
Congrats Banjo! (The REAL countdown starts tomorrow )
We are excited to take our baby Stella on her first big road trip this week! We are going to Denver for our son's graduation (MDiv) from Denver Seminary!
I'm Soooo glad we found Stella in stock... but, there was a 7 inch snowfall on our delivery day, so we had to wait 2 more days. That was more than enough wait for me
