Seems to me that some people love them and others can't stand them but there isn't much in betweeners.
I happen to be so addicted to having my top down that I could'nt imagine life without the little button that makes them go up and down...
I like it that when I return to my mini convertible in the parking lot, about half the time there is someone there looking it over and then asking questions about it. They have been always positive about it and the comments are ego stroking. :-)
I'm a classically trained musician, so I love riding with my top down, cranking the symphonic music or opera, and seeing the looks I get between people loving my car and then wondering what the hell kind of music I'm playing
I have to agree. When I decided I wanted a mini, I had my heart set on a hardtop.
My wife (who knows everything) reminded me that my last 4-5 cars have been convertibles and that I'd probably be miserable if I lost my convertible powers.
I've never looked back... I love the fact that not only is it a convertible but I can slide the sunroof open a bit...
I live for driving around in mine with the top down! Life is just always good when you're motoring like that.
+1
There's few things better to me than driving away from the office with the top down to the shore for the evening! Even in bad traffic, with the top down it's all ok
I have never understood how somebody could love a car with a hard top. From the time I was a little boy, anybody who expressed a great desire for a car that wasn't a convertible drew a confused look from me, with the thought in my head, "but the top doesn't come down." It is a sundae without whipped cream and a cherry, or a great first date that ends with a handshake.
