R52 Scheduled Maintenance Question

Scheduled Maintenance Question
Hi,
We're coming up on the 30k miles scheduled maintenance and I wanted to know exactly what it covers.
I can't find any description anywhere of the scheduled maintenance.
Specifically I would like to know if they do something with the coolant. I was very surprised the other day to find out our coolant was completelly gone. A friend mentioned that her car had some coolant hoses replaced due to leaks.
TIA.

Specially down in South Florida
I just hope that it's not a small leak on one of the hoses.
The funny part was that I usually only drive the car on the weekends and I noticed the temperature gauge shoot to the top and the warning light come on. I ask my wife and she said that, yes, it was happening for a while and the fan had been staying on pretty long

I just had the 25,500 mile service last week and the cooling system is checked for leaks, coolant level, protection level, and adding coolant if necessary.
The list of stuff done in Inspection I (25,500) is pretty long:
Change oil & filter
Check transmission for leaks(For CVT-change fluid)
Check for leaks at half-shafts
Check (visually) fule tank, lines, connections for leaks
Check exhaust system
Check power steering
Check thickness of brake pads
Check steering for absence of play, condition of suspension track rods, front axle joints, steering linkage and joint disc
Check brake system connections/lines for leaks, damage, and incorrect positioning
Check parking brake actuation
Check tire pressures and condition(outer surfaces, tread wear, and pattern)
Inspect body for rust warrant issues
Run engine diagonstics
Check cooling system/heater hose connections for leaks
Replace poly V-belt
Check level of brake fluid in reservoir
Replace brake fluid every two years
Check windshield washer fluid level and anitfreeze protection
Check air conditioner operation
Replace ventilation system microfilter
Reset service interval indicator
Check battery state-of-charge
Check lighting system(essentially all lights)
Check instrument and dashboard illumination
Check all warning/indicator lights
Check turn signals, hazard warning flashers, brake lights, horn, headight dimmer/flasher switch
Check windshield/tailgate wipers and washer systems, wiper blades, washer jet positions
Check condition/function of safety belts
Check central locking systems
Check operation of all latches
Check heater/AC blower fan, rear window defogger
Check rear view mirrors
Visually examine SRS airbag units for torn covers, obvious damage or attachments of decals, decorations, or accessories
(Convertible) Check operation of sunroof function as well as convertible top
Road test with check of brakes, suspension, steering, clutch/manual or automoatic transmission
Visually check shock absorbers for leaks

FWIW, the Inspection II is all the above plus:
Replace intake air cleaner element
Replace poly V-Belt

WARNING!!!! WARNING!!!
I just hope that it's not a small leak on one of the hoses.
The funny part was that I usually only drive the car on the weekends and I noticed the temperature gauge shoot to the top and the warning light come on. I ask my wife and she said that, yes, it was happening for a while and the fan had been staying on pretty long [/quote]
THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED TO ME WHEN I HAD A CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE. The fan was staying on every time I drove it. Didn't notice the temp gauge, but then I had a knocking noise underneath my foot a couple of times. Then OH FUBAR I was on the side of the road and couldn't go anywhere. Blew a gasket, etc. Slow coolant leak, so slow that it was to the point that by the time it was detected by the car, it was too late. Blew a gasket and a couple of other things. However, MINI had seen this happen before and since I was under 50K it was covered. I have an '05 MCS and it's something with the design. Maybe there is someone out there a little more car savvy than me that can explain it, but it is definitely an issue. HAVE IT CHECKED OUT NOW.
