Can you get MINI Cabs below MSRP?

We have been thinking about getting a Jeep for the summer, and my daughter saw a Mini and said she wanted that instead.

So several dealers in the area, have some nice ones in stock, wondering if you can get discounts on them?

Thanks

I know from when I was looking for my Mini a 07non S, lightning blue, cab, black leather int., 5 speed, DSC, front and rear fogs. That the 3 dealers that O visited were not moving on the price. I got my Mini on December 31, 07. The dealer gave me $1200 off and a free nav system. See if you can get a left over 07.

I would say since we are in a recession [I know, debatable, but we are] and that consumer confidence is way down, that cars are not rolling off the lot.

So I'd say deals can be had. JMHO.

Dealers started to come off MSRP (about $1000-2000) on the R53 six months or more before the R56 came out . . . . . . so I would not be surprised if the same starts to happen with the R52.
And it sounds like it may be happening already.

Cabrios in our area are in short supply, so that's why I was asking Mini1966 where he is...I would travel for that kind of discount.

I bought mine for MSRP and they threw in a bunch of stuff and no additonal charges for paperwork etc.... but I got a helluva trade in - way over blue book on my minivan - a lot more than KBB trade in excellent condition. My Odyssey needed tires and had double the usual mileage. I was so surprised - I was expecting to have to go through the four square.

Then you really got yours under invoice since they simply worked on the trade in.

Dealers always say they can't work both ends, take off the sticker and also give retail for the trade-in. If they really want to do the sale, like on yours, they give retail for the trade-in and take a hit on it when they wholesale it out or put it on their used lot.

I helped a friend go car shopping in a bad economy. The car she was getting rid of overheated and barely made it to the dealership lot. The dealer did not test drive it and gave her about $1k over high book, so to sell her a new car at sticker [a Toyota.]

About a week later the sales guy was follow-up chatting with her on the phone and asking how she liked her new car. He said that her trade-in would not start and they had a tow truck haul it off the lot and to one of those used car alley places, where junkers are sold.

Actually I may have posted a bit too early... When i went there, I met the guy that I had been working for. He told me that there was no way that they were discounting convertibles ( although leftover '07's WERE discounted the $1500.00) We kinda "argued" the point with me feeling a bit lied to. He went into the sales managers office and they called the girl who was the one who mentioned it to me. I told them that I was VERY clear that I would be ordering one and that I mentioned it several times.

In the end, they clearly were not happy with the deal but they kept their word and upheld the 1500.00 off the '08 'vert. And yes, I have it in writing.

All other MINI's are 2K OVER sticker and yes they are selling. In this neck of the woods people have no problem buying whatever they want. MINI's are selling like crazy because gas here is now $4.15 for regular.

Well in this neck of the woods the paper said there are now 50,000 multi-millionaires. While people are buying, I don't think for the other millions around here it's "whatever they want."

Congrats on your success. Anyone buying a new 2008 MINI for their daughter is doing well.

Back to the salt mines for me.
