2006 JCW Convertible Seat Swap

My 2006 JCW Convertible has cloth seats. While they are comfortable they do not have the look the JCW deserves and they also stain with the slightest moisture. I have been looking for a set of Mini leather seats to replace them with. I found a set from a 2007 Convertible (non JCW) both front and rear and am wondering if they are a direct swap. I will hit the dealer up with the question next week, but I figured someone on the forum has done this before and will know.

Thanks!!!
Adam

Seat Swap

Adam hi!

I just talked to my Mini mechanic here in Florida and he said Gen I cars need to stick with Gen I seats if you want them to work properly. Gen II have different tracks and different electrical plugs.

I have the sport seats and have been searching for someone to trade for a less 'sporty' seat for my Gen I convertible. If you find someone, please let me know.

Good luck!

JON

The 06' and 07' convertible are both Gen I. So I don't see why the OP wouldn't be able to do a direct swap.

Jeremy is correct!

Sorry, you are correct---it should work fine. I was thinking convertible Gen I versus Coupe Gen II--which is what I have been searching for.
