Top tolerance and interference rub
Hi all,
I have an '05 conv. and had it in last year for a top fix. Some rod in the upper left broke, not sure what it was, and the top, when retracting would rub against the rear upper post just slightly. They replaced the rear post covering and stuff for me, but since then the problem has crept back. This time I've not heard any rod break or anything, the whole thing seems just slightly out of adjustment because when fully retracted the distance from the edge of the top to the post on the left side is smaller than that of the right by about 1/8", give or take. It's not much, but enough to rub the back post again. So I'll probably take it to the dealer again this week after about a year, but I recall them saying they've adjusted as best they could. I'm not buying it. See pics attached...
Any thoughts? Is there anything I can do to adjust this myself?

I've still not found a solution other than to have someone apply gentle pressure to assist the top in clearing the post. Haven't had time to dig into my bentley manual much, it does seem to indicate that some adjustments can be made.....whether or not that will address this issue I'm unsure of.
