There right!

It is for chicks!

Young chicks and mature (old) chicks. Its also for dudes. And for everyother person that wants a car for under $30k that turns heads like a ferarri, handles like a porshe (OK the boxster) and plays like a kid!

Come on these guys are trying to sell mags. They are the MAN! what the hell do they know about cars.

Awwww, sweetie. Don't let the ignoramuses out there get you down. Besides, we all know that the MINI appeals to a variety of fascinating people of every gender! Let's see them test-drive an MCSC and see if they still consider it suitable only for women. The writer probably loves the likes of the Escalade Pick-up truck or H2s...LOL! Or, gasp...the Aztek, for gosh sakes.

MINI owners have NOTHING to prove! We love to motor and enjoy the road in our stealthy high-performance sports cars!

Look at the source. This is a lowest-common denominator chauvinist automobile magazine and reminds me of Stuff with wheels. It’s definitely geared toward the meathead market so let them continue to believe that they are cool in their F150s and Hummers. http://www.mphmagazineonline.com/backseat/2

The RX-7 was too!

And it smoked for it's day! there are other threads on this. But to be fair to the enthusiast driving crowd. You do pay a weight penalty for the cabrio. It's just a fact.

I've owned lots of cars, some for chicks, and some for dudes (at least by automotive rep) and if you care what others think....... Then ask them what car to drive!

Me, I drive what I want to!

And this means that I laugh my *** off every time I see the Mini add about the SUV revolutions starting here. One of my cars is and Acura MDX!

Drive what you want to drive with confidence. Confidence is more attractive than conformity every time!

And if everyone out there thinks it's a "chick" car, have fun as they surely will underestimate the car's potential!

Exactly! That underestimation is just what I was referring to when I called our MINIs "stealthy," tee hee! And it is all about attitude: confidence is absolutely attractive!

A link that's worth a thousand words. Hey what do you know, it's not really about cars.

I always figured that if there was a stereotype of Mini drivers, it was that they were always young and hip, regardless of gender - the same people who have to have that sleek new cellphone in their pocket or an iMac on their desk.

Of course, the reality is that a lot of the drivers are middle-aged, and about as hip as a Lawrence Welk polka album, i.e. not very.

But I think that really just speaks to the fairly universal appeal of the Mini. You can be a woman and buy it because it's "cute..." but you can also be a woman who buys it because it's a performance car that doesn't feel like a male ego compensation tool. Sure, some men will buy it because they're (for lack of a better word) metro, but a lot of them will simply want a quick, well-made car which is still good as a daily driver.

There is some debate whether the Boxster handles better then the Carrera because of it's mid engine placement. But it doesn't have the motor of a carrera. At least not displacement wise.

There is a thread on rennlist about Porsche and racing and one person wrote that his peer group, 21 year olds, consider Porsches for men with ED.

Yep, that is her. She is Venezuelan and one of the fastest woman pilot drivers in history. She looks damn hot too!

A for the MCSC article, what is wrong with a chick car?

I guess that makes me a 235 lb chick with a shaved head and a beard

If you were to put a WRX-type flappy spoiler in the back and make the hood scoop comically exaggerated - then you'd have a man's car

Yes, the MINI is for chicks... I'm always getting HOT CHICKS coming over to me in parking lots to "check out my car". The cute gals at work are always asking for rides. Yeah, it's a chick car alright, a chick magnet, and I'm loving it!

So did anyone read that issue to see if it's Milka on the cover? She's a real race car driver in the Rolex series and she's drives a man's car..one of the prototype cars.

Not only have I not "seen" this magazine, I have not heard of "ignoramuses".
I must be isolated or something.

A google search in the Brainy dictionary reveals-
Translation of ignoramuses

ignoramuses
ignoramuses in German is Ignoranten

Ignoranten- that's a "nice" name. Nothing like swearing in a foreign language.

But it did see this one-
definition of ignominious Ignominious
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Marked with ignominy; in curring public disgrace; dishonorable; shameful.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Deserving ignominy; despicable.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Humiliating; degrading; as, an ignominious judgment or sentence.

ignominious
ignominious in Hungarian is meggyalázó, szégyenletes, megalázó, megszégyenítõ
ignominious in Norwegian is vanærende, forsmedelig
ignominious in Spanish is ignominioso
ignominious in Swedish is skamlig

Used in a sentence-
MPH is Ignominious. (note our new word contains "mini").

They've got MINI's... so I guess they are chicks???

Make a car perform and look good, and such a refernece is bound to surface...

As for me, I'm a football cravin', mountain climbing, arm-wrestling, Home Depot regular... chick!

Nice research Tony! You should send that in to the letters column if they have one. On second thought they most likely would not have the ***** to print it. How perfect is that?
