Battery Melted now car has no electrical power

My girlfriend's 2005 R52 has no electrical power at all since her battery Melted. She let the car sit for a month and disconnected the battery because she thought it would save the battery from being drained. She then reconnected the battery and close the hood without putting the battery cover back on and the positive post fused to the hood. She didn't try start the car for a few days after and no power. When she tells me about the car I open the hood with a little force and the battery is melted to where you can see inside the battery. I've replaced the battery with a new one, I've checked all the fuses and the wires coming off the battery and it's all good but still no lights nothing. What else can I do to figure and fix her car? Any help would be most appreciated, thank you.

Check all the fuses and relays. The only bad fuse was for the headlights and I replaced it. Still no power.

Did you pull the fuse box out of the car and check the big fuses underneath?

I didn't know there was a big fuse underneath, but it's funny I got in the car and there was power. I tried to start the car and it would turn but won't start now. I tried it about 5 times and then all the power went out again.

That's what BD Sullivan was pointing to, I think there are two. They're large amp fuses and should be checked along with their connection points where they plug in. Also, check both ends on both battery cables for true integrity. Remove, clean, replace. That's an awful lot of current at the battery with a dead short, is the hood damaged?

Yep block fuses are under the main fuse box backside like a mentioned before.

Check those.

It put a small hole on the underside of the hood but amazingly didn't go through the top.
Would something like that also effect it from running. Before for this it would start right up. When the engine turned it sounded like it wanted to start, but just couldn't. I heard this model has a problem with the fuel pumps going out on them too.
